My Big Fat Fab Life Star Visits Dermatologist

Skin issues can affect how people feel about their bodies. Skin blemishes are common, but some, such as moles, can be dangerous. To many TLC viewers, Whitney Way Thore is a role model on how to love your body, no matter your size. Earlier this week, she let her Instagram followers know that part of loving your body is checking the health of your skin.

While routine skin checks are important, it is never too late to start. For Whitney Way Thore, that means her first skin exam at 36-years-old.

The viral dance star shared her experience in a series of Instagram Stories on Wednesday, January 27. She included a discount code for Sona Skin for her followers to use, as well.

Sona Skin is a MedSpa that includes dermatology services. There are a handful of locations, one in North Carolina that Whitney Way Thore presumably visited.

She documented different steps of her visit, starting with a pre-exam photo rockin’ a hospital gown. She wrote on the photo that she was getting a “total body skin exam” to make sure her “skin is looking good.”

Noting that she is getting her first skin exam at 36, she wishes she’d “done it years ago.”

For her followers who weren’t sure what a skin exam was, she wrote that they would be “looking for rashes, patches, irregularities, suspicious moles, warts, etc.”

Did they find anything?

Did Her Skin Pass the Test?

In one of her Instagram Stories slides, Whitney Way Thore revealed the results of her skin test. She got the all-clear from the experts at Sona Skin. They didn’t find anything, but it is likely that Whitney Way Thore will go for regular skin checks from now on.

Whitney Way Thore Considers Cosmetic Dermatology Procedures

In fact, Sona Skin may get another visit from Whitney Way Thore sooner rather than later. In one of her first slides, she revealed that she is considering an elective dermatology procedure. She wrote that she was going to ask about “microdermabrasion or chemical peel.”

Both procedures are used to improve the skin’s appearance by removing blemishes and refreshing the skin.
