According to an exclusive report from Variety, news the series was returning came at a bit of a shock to fans. Why? Well, because the series has been off air for more than a year. The outlet goes on to reveal the new season will test the cast like never before.

What Does The Cast Look Like For The New Season?

Basketball Wives Season 9 will see the return of a lot of cast members. These returning cast members include Shaunie O’Neal, Malaysia Pargo, Evelyn Lozada, Jackie Christie, Jennifer Williams, Kristen Scott, Ogom “OG” Chijindu, and Feby Torres. For those hoping for some fresh story lines, Season 9 also has some new cast members joining the VH1 series. Liza Morales and sisters Nia and Noria Dorsey are the fresh faces we will see this season.

As those who have watched previous season of the shows have come to expect, Shaunie O’Neal is often considered the head of the series. This season will be no different. We will watch her life issues. Her story line will follow her relocation to Houston.

We will see Malaysia Pargo educate her children on Black Lives Matter. And, police brutality. Moreover, viewers of the series will see these two topics come up in a few different ways.

Basketball Wives Season 9 will also feature a lot of conflict within the inner-group. And, there will be the usual relationship drama unfolding.

Season 8 of Basketball Wives faired very well between the months of June and October of 2019. The series averaged nearly 1 million live viewers for each episode. And, this was an 18 episode season. These numbers even include the two-part reunion.
