Colton Underwood Details Split With Cassie In Book’s New Chapter
“Finally, I put my finger to my lips for silence. She stopped mid-sentence and lowered her eyes.”
Reads like a bad romance novel, right? Nope! It is an excerpt from a new chapter in Colton Underwood’s 2020 memoir. The former Bachelor lead is releasing a paperback version next week. And he added a new chapter to give the nitty-gritty details about his split with Cassie Randolph.
Cassie & Colton: The Way They Were
The former couple had a whirlwind courtship on Colton’s season of The Bachelor.
At one point, he famously hopped a fence after she dumped him and left the show. Colton sent the remaining women home and begged Cassie to reconsider. She did and the two began dating, with Colton even moving to be close to her.
In March of 2020, Colton got sick with the coronavirus. He quarantined with Cassie and she nursed him back to health. However, it seems their time quarantining together didn’t bring them closer together. In fact, it tore them apart.
By May, the pair went their separate ways.
Contentious Split Involved Restraining Order, Harassment Allegations By Cassie Randolph
Bachelor Nation fans were in complete shock when Cassie Randolph filed a request for a restraining order against Colton Underwood in September 2020. The two had an amicable split four months earlier. Or so fans thought.
In the bombshell explanation for the restraining order, Cassie alleged that Colton was sending her harassing text messages. Additionally, he allegedly put a tracker on her car, and showed up outside her home at random times.
In her court filing, she also claimed that Colton admitted to putting the tracking device on her car.
However, a month later, Cassie dropped the restraining order. At the time, Colton released a statement in Cassie’s defense, saying the legal action was “in good faith.”
Since the split, Cassie has been living her best life.
New Chapter In Colton Underwood Book Details Break-Up
On January 20, Us Weekly broke the news that fans will soon get the inside scoop on the break-up. Colton’s book The First Time: Finding Myself and Looking for Love on Reality TV came out shortly before the couple split up. But a paperback version of the book will be out later this month.
And it will feature an entirely new chapter dedicated to his break-up with Cassie Randolph. In the excerpt published in Us Weekly, Colton seemingly blames the quarantine on the break-up. Furthermore, he writes that he was completely blindsided by her confession that she was “struggling” with their relationship.
In the book excerpt, Colton describes their breakup as “one of those proverbial deaths by a thousand paper cuts.”
The short excerpt doesn’t address the restraining order or Cassie’s allegations. Fans will have to wait until the book is released in paperback. However, Us Weekly reports that Cassie “read and signed off” on the new chapter. According to Colton, anyway.
The First Time: Finding Myself and Looking for Love on Reality TV comes out in paperback on Tuesday, January 26, 2020. Stay tuned to TV Shows Ace to find out all the details Colton spills in the new chapter.
