My 600-lb Life doctor, Dr. Now, has a strict diet plan often helps patients drop weight. But he makes the patient first show that they can stick to a strict diet before he agrees to perform gastric bypass surgery. All of his clients have massive amounts of weight to lose. Curious viewers are wondering what the doctor’s diet entails, which has been proven to help the largest of patients drop pounds. Let’s take a look!

Dr. Younan Nowrazadan, or Dr. Now as his patients call him, specializes in bariatric surgery and always takes a tough-love approach to weight loss. He often tells his morbidly obese patients that they will need to diet before he will consider them for weight loss surgery. He also asks his patients to get plenty of exercises which is usually difficult for people over 600 pounds.

His diet plan plans are different, yet the same

All of Dr. Now’s diet plans are customized for the particular patient in question. This helps to ensure that they work as effectively as possible for each person. Dr. Now creates each individual plan, but though they are somewhat different, they’re all similar. All of his plans start by restricting calories to 1,000 to 1,200 per day. All of his plans include increased exercise, to help them shed pounds quicker. With all of his plans, he also promotes eating real foods and nothing processed.

The nuts and bolts to Dr. Now’s diet

Generally speaking, the diet is low-carb and low-fat but high in protein. Also, all of his patients also need to avoid sugary snacks and soft drinks that are loaded in sugar. Distractify posted the diet plan the late L.B. Bonner followed while he was on the popular TLC show. The diet plan relies on small portions, so many patients will eat egg whites or oatmeal for breakfast. For lunch, they rely on a lean protein, which is similar to dinner. Ultimately, the plan is very strict and tough to follow, but it obviously works.

Dr. Now has a blast from the past

Amber Rachdi, who first appeared on My 600-lb life back in 2014, told Starcasm how important it is to follow through with good habits. “I still go to the gym 3 days a week,” she said. “I’m working on myself… I’m trying to live my life the best way I know how.” Making sure to let people know that she’s had to adapt and commit to a healthy lifestyle. It is important to note that Amber has lost well over 400 pounds with the help of Dr. Now’s and her own hard work and dedication.
