Tina Fey & Wayne Brady To Appear In ‘Theatre Alive!”

30 Rock actress Tina Fey is coming to a computer screen near you. She will be joined by Whose Line Is It Anyway? star Wayne Brady. Both celebs are making an appearance on the upcoming program Theatre Alive!: A Celebration of School Theatre. They are joining an all-star cast in this virtual gala. The event will stream live by the Educational Theatre Foundation on January 28th at 8:30 p.m. EST.

About the Educational Theatre Foundation

According to their website, the Educational Theatre Foundation provides financial support to enhance excellence. The group focuses on theatre education. Additionally, the purpose is to “expand access to K-12 school theatre programs for every child.”

Furthermore, the Educational Theatre Association is working alongside the Educational Theatre Foundation.

“The Educational Theatre Association (EdTA) is a national nonprofit organization with approximately 135,000 student and professional members.”

In fact, the EdTA provides teachers and students with “professional development, networking opportunities.” Further resources include convincing the public to support the arts.

Theatre Alive!

Indeed, the streaming event is free to the public. Additionally, it will honor the 2020 inductees into the Educational Theatre Association Hall of Fame. Moreover, the inductees are Tim Buchheit of Washington, Missouri, and Michael Daehn of Muncie, Indiana. Additional inductees include Marti Fowler of Chesterfield, Missouri, and Billy Houck of Carmichael, California. Subsequently, these individuals are being recognized for their more than 20 years of dedication to teaching theatre education.

 Theatre Alive!: A Celebration of School Theatre will also raise money for the Thespian Relief Fund. The Thespian Relief Fund provides assistance to theatre programs in need.

However, Tina Fey and Wayne Brady are not the only celebrities making appearances in this event. Audra McDonald, Amber Riley, and Jennifer Hudson will be performing. Samuel L. Jackson and will present Kenny Leon with the Craig Zadan Theatre for Life Award. Leon is a Tony-winning director, producer, and actor. He is best known for his film American Son.

Tina Fey voiced her enthusiasm saying,

“I’m proud to support Theatre Alive! to help sustain theatre in school for students who need it most.”
