Witney Carson Announces Baby Son’s Name, Shares Birth Details
After giving birth on January 3, Dancing With The Stars pro Witney Carson is proud to announce more details about her son’s birth. The baby’s full name is Kevin Leo McAllister, but they plan to call him Leo.
“Kevin Leo McAllister 🤍 Named after his grandpa who sent him down to us. Born on Jan. 3rd 2021 ✨ 7lbs. 2oz. 21” long! My little Leo, I love you more than words can express. You are the most precious gift. My life will forever be changed by your sweet spirit. Welcome to the world Leo 🦁,” the dancer captioned her sweet Instagram photo.
In posts from earlier this week, Witney posted that her little boy made his way into the world after a 24-hour labor. She also had to undergo an emergency C-section. If you want to keep up with little Leo’s baby photos, make sure to follow Witney on Instagram.
Witney Carson Didn’t Give Birth Exactly The Way She Wanted To
We previously reported on Witney Carson’s birth plan. And if you read that piece, you know that the professional dancer really wanted to avoid a C-section at all costs. But as many moms know, things don’t always go according to plan. She decided to be induced, which meant she and her husband Carson McAllister got to choose their son’s birthday.
“I asked my doctor about that and he said the best way is to be induced. He said there’s been a lot of studies about how they’ve had less C-sections with women who were induced versus women who waited until full-term — so that’s kind of what I’m basing my decision off of,” Witney told fans in an Instagram live.
Her husband, Carson, was a very large baby. She used this information to help make her decision.
After a week or so, Witney will hopefully reveal more about baby Leo’s birth.
Future Dancers In The Making
Witney’s best friend Lindsay Arnold also recently became a parent. She gave birth to a girl, Sage, on November 2. The two friends already joked that they plan to make their children into excellent dancers.
“We’re gonna take turns with daycare,” Witney said to ET back in November. “Like, Lindsay, you take them once a week, me once a week. And we’ll sneak in some dance lessons there, in daycare.”
Lindsay went on to joke that the children could even be dance partners. And if they became boyfriend and girlfriend, that was just an added bonus.
If Dancing With The Stars is still around in 18 years, you will definitely have to look out for Sage and Leo.
