Will Hilaria Baldwin Join ‘DWTS’ After Recent Scandal?
It’s no secret that Dancing With The Stars executive producer and hostess Tyra Banks loves a good scandal. Sources close to production say Banks really wants people making headlines to join upcoming seasons. After all, Carole Baskin of Tiger King fame competed in Season 29, even though no one really thought she would win. However, many viewers tuned in specifically to watch Baskin compete. Now, rumors swirl that Hilaria Baldwin could join Season 30 after her recent scandal.
Hilaria Baldwin May Not Be All That She Appears To Be
In case you didn’t hear, Hilaria Baldwin reportedly used a fake Spanish accent. Reports also say she’s exaggerated the extent of her Spanish heritage over the years. Her birth name is Hillary Hayward-Thomas and she was born in Boston.
Hilaria Baldwin, the entrepreneur and wife of Alec Baldwin, spoke to The New York Times after being accused of impersonating a Spanish person for years.

“The whole ‘Hilaria’ thing is hilarious to me,” said Alexander Rechits, Hilaria’s competitive dance partner from 2006-2009. He spoke to The New York Times amid the scandal. “I understand why she did it. It was always her desire to be considered Spanish. She had roots in Spain, her brother lived there, she visited there a lot. But Hillary is a very good strong name, so why would you change that when you were born here and you weren’t born in Spain?”
From this, we can conclude a few things. Hilaria Baldwin can bring the drama and she has a background in dance. If you’re on the DWTS production staff, Hilaria may seem like the ideal candidate for Season 30.
An Insider Reveals DWTS May Be Considering Her For Season 30 Already
Inside sources apparently agree.
“This is TV gold for Tyra Banks and Dancing With the Stars. Tyra has made the show exciting again and isn’t afraid to cast controversial people on it,” an ABC insider reportedly told OK! “Hilaria is exactly the sort of star Tyra wants. They will let her wear Spanish costumes when she performs and even cook her paella backstage.”
“It is usually her husband that claims he is the victim, locked up at home, not able to leave his apartment without the press following him. Now it’s her time, and she is playing the part even better than him,” the source continued. “Hilaria is now the center of attention and feels like she is a movie star. All the media coverage is bad, but she doesn’t mind, the whole world is talking about her.”
There is also a push from Bravo fans to get Hilaria Baldwin in the cast of The Real Housewives Of New York. If she truly loves the attention, she may be in talks for multiple reality TV shows.
But no matter what happens, it seems like Hilaria enjoys getting her turn in the spotlight.
