When Will ‘Bridgerton’ Season 2 Premiere On Netflix?

In a matter of days, millions of viewers fell in love with Shondaland’s Bridgerton and now want to know if there will be a Season 2.

We have news on that very front.

Bridgerton Renewed For Season 2?

For nearly a week, Shondaland’s Bridgerton has been the top watched Netflix show worldwide. The Regency fantasy series has slayed social media. Now that fans have watched Season 1, they want to know if Netflix has renewed the racy series. Does Shondaland plans on filming more?

According to What’s On Netflix, the series has been renewed for Season 2. But, Netflix has not made any sort of announcement. However, they originally were set to commence filming in the summer of 2020. We all know why that never happened.

Subsequently, filming will not commence until March 2021. Unfortunately, that means that by the time they complete filming, and finish post production, Season 2 will not drop until sometime in 2022. This could certainly change should Covid-19 continue to delay production.

What Would Bridgerton Season 2 Be About?

Which Bridgerton family member will be the focus of Season 2? We can safely assume that the series follows the order and timeline of the books. That means Season 2 will focus on Anthony’s (Jonathan Bailey, Broadchurch) story. The name of this Julia Quinn book is The Viscount Who Loved Me.

Anthony Is ‘Flawed, Damaged, Broken’

Based on the events of the sensational first season, Anthony is ready to find a bride. But, without the broken heart. Bridgerton creator and showrunner Chris Van Dusen has explained on Twitter that Anthony is “Flawed, damaged, some would say broken.”  That is quite intriguing.

The upcoming storyline is a bit like Shakespeare’s Taming Of The Shrew, and Anthony’s match is Kate Sheffield. Although, she is not the woman he pursues in order to become his Viscountess, she is his match in every way. Does she help mend the broken Viscount?

In addition, this season should also explain why there is a bee Easter egg throughout the credits and at the end of Season 1. Moreover, Anthony is obsessed with bees.

Will We See The Bridgerton Croquet Match?

In Bridgerton Season 1, we were introduced to the Bridgerton family. In Season 2, we will see how competitive the members of the family really are. That is all in the form of a croquet match. This is one of the most legendary Julia Quinn family scenes in the series. It is quite hysterical and it shows how competitive this family is.

There could certainly be some changes from the original book, just like Season 1. But, it seems that both Quinn and her millions of fans around the world are happy with everything that Shondaland has done with the beloved series.

So, Bridgerton fans, will you be reading the books or rewatching the Netflix series until Season 2 drops?
