‘DWTS’ Pros Sasha Farber And Emma Slater Have Great News To Share
Dancing With The Stars fans enjoy watching Emma Slater and Sasha Farber grace the stage year after year. They’re one of the show’s many married couples and even got engaged on the show back in Season 23. But now, the couple has some more exciting news to share. They both recently passed their United States citizenship tests!
Both Came To America And Joined Dancing With The Stars
Both Emma and Sasha posted about passing the citizenship test on their Instagram pages. They describe coming to the United States to pursue dance and successfully trying out for Dancing With The Stars. Sasha was born in the Soviet Union and immigrated to Australia as a little boy. Emma is from England.
“WE BECAME U.S CITIZENS TODAY! Wow. I can’t believe that I’ve been here for 8 years and it’s been the whirlwind it has. I’m so grateful, I could never have dreamt where my passion for dance has actually taken me. To the other side of the world from my English life which I also loved, for a wonderful show that changed my life, with a best friend who changed my life @sashafarber1,” Emma wrote. “I remember when I did some smaller dance jobs in the UK when I was 17 and my friends & I would discuss whether the credits of these shows would ever help us get a visa to the US!! But being an actual Citizen of the US? Wow!! Urgh, I guess I’ll stay 😍❤️🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸.”
She added some adorable photos of the two celebrating with mini American flags.
Sasha Farber Reflects On His Own Journey
While he reflected on his path to citizenship, Sasha also reflected on making a wonderful life with Emma.
“I’ve dreamed of this day ever since I was a little boy in Russia watching blockbuster movies. I came to America to try out for a show called @dancingabc and my whole life changed, I proposed to my beautiful wife @theemmaslater on the show, got married, bought our first house, rescued a dog, made so many incredible memories and so many new friends I call my family here in America, and now I get to call America my home !!!” said Sasha. “I’m so grateful for DWTS for believing in me and giving me a chance. WE ARE OFFICIALLY CITIZENS!!! Now it’s time to bring my mum and dad over to be with us thank you ❤️🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸.”
The couple had to quarantine apart during Season 29, but it didn’t last long. Emma Slater and her professional partner Charles Oakley came in last place and left during week 2. Meanwhile, Sasha and his partner Justina Machado made it all the way to the finale and came in fourth place.
Now that the couple are officially United States citizens, what comes next? Emma recently got her real estate license, but she and Sasha may continue to choreograph other projects until Dancing With The Stars comes back in the fall. They’ll have plenty of time to celebrate!
