New Bridgerton Preview Hints At Season 1 Romance
Netflix has just released the latest Bridgerton preview. In this opulent Shondaland video, we get a bit of a teaser into the romance between Daphne (Phoebe Dynevor, Younger) and Simon, the Duke of Hastings (Regé-Jean Page, For The People).
They meet unexpectedly. Avoiding an unwanted suitor, Daphne crashes right into Simon. Turns out, he is one of Anthony’s pals. As Lady Whistledown drones on regarding the scandals and secrets among the wealthy Londoners, we see that Simon is a bit of a rake, and Daphne is not impressed.
Their chemistry is electric. He teases her at dinner, observing that she enjoys sitting next to him. She will have none of that, and gives him a sour retort. But, as time goes on, Daphne’s season is rapidly failing. Moreover, Simon is besieged by marriage-minded mamas who want him to court their daughters.
Subsequently, the two figure out a way to help each other. If they pretend to be courting, other guys will start to notice her. Those gents will wonder what the Duke sees in Daphne. Meanwhile, if Simon is seen in the company of Daphne Bridgerton, he will no longer be hounded by the obnoxious mammas.
But, they need to sell this. Can the two find a way to be in each other’s company without falling for each other? The preview indicates that this fake courtship becomes rather complicated. Actually, very scandalous.
