‘MBFFL’: Is Chase Severino’s Amplify NC Bar Still Open?
Fans of My Big Fat Fabulous Life got a glimpse at Chase Severino’s North Carolina bar, Amplify NC. In a recent episode, the TLC show filmed scenes in the nightclub. But with COVID raging and states shutting down again, fans wonder what happened to Chase’s club.
Chase Severino’s Bar Third Wheel of Relationship
As fans know, Whitney Way Thore and Chase Severino are no longer together. The two split earlier this year, after he admitted to fathering a child with another woman. However, the break-up is only now being played out on Season 8.
Prior to their break-up, the two often disagreed about living together. Whitney Way Thore wanted Chase to move to Charlotte, NC, where she was living at the time. She’s since moved back to Greensboro, NC.
Chase, however, didn’t want to leave his home in Wilmington, NC, partly due to the bar/nightclub. Screen Rant reports that Chase helped open the Amplify NC bar in Wilmington, North Carolina. Wilmington is a coastal city with a lot of college students. The Latin nights at the nightclub were extremely popular before the coronavirus hit.
With both of them unwilling to relocate, did their relationship ever stand a chance? Did the Amplify NC bar stand a chance after the coronavirus pandemic made college dorms a ghost town?
Is Amplify NC Still Open?
Whether the bar/nightclub is still open is hard to say. On one hand, the Amplify NC Instagram page posted last week, touting the bar’s appearance on MBFFL. In the caption, it says they “can’t wait” to see their patrons again once they “are able to open again.”
However, the same account promoted an event at the bar this past weekend. Saturday, December 5, was Latin Night at Amplify NC. In the video, patrons are encouraged to reserve seats. There is also a note that masks are required.
But it’s unclear if the event was held indoors or outdoors. However, it seems that if the bar is indeed closed, they plan to reopen ASAP.
Whitney Way Thore Fans Troll Bar on Facebook
Not everyone is happy with Amplify NC. On November 9, Amplify NC’s Facebook page posted a teaser for patrons to “get ready” for reopening soon. However, a few MBFFL fans took to the comments to call the bar out. One person didn’t think now is the right time for a bar to reopen, with coronavirus cases surging nationwide.
Another person replied that the bar should cut all ties with Chase Severino after his treatment of Whitney Way Thore.
The Amplify NC page owner never replied to either comment.
