Gordon Ramsay announced via Twitter that he will be bringing a new burger experience to London. The new Gordon Ramsay Burger, housed in London’s Harrods department store, is now open for bookings and reservations. Harrod’s website is promoting the first of Ramsay’s burger places outside of Las Vegas. The promotions touts “these are not your average quarter-pounders.” They also say it’s “A taste of America, without the trans-Atlantic trip.”

The Burgers

Burgers are a “classic” American meal, and now London is going to get to try Ramsay’s “perfected” classic. The chef said, “I’ve been perfecting burgers for years in America and now at Harrods we are taking it to the next level.” Ramsay explains in his video why these are not your average burgers.

He said that they have elevated the patties by “using the U.K.’s best cuts of meat.” Ramsay takes great pride in the quality of his ingredients, which he should.  “Championing some of the most incredible ingredients from amazing British providers, producers, artisans, and growers, all cooked to absolute perfection and served with sensational sides, I guarantee this will be a burger experience like no other.”

The website offers more details; focusing on the patties in particular. The patties are made with a combination of “50 percent chuck, 25 percent brisket, and 25 percent rib cap.” These are definitely higher quality cuts than most American burgers can claim for sure.

Maybe too Gourmet?

The quality of these burgers, while sounding mouth-wateringly delicious, also carries a hefty price tag. One burger on the menu is the wagyu beef burger, which will run you about $106! That is a lot to put down on a burger. Even if the burger is made with the “best beef” in the world.

One Twitter user said, “I will absolutely pay $106 for a burger if he will also come to my table and yell at me. Imagine saying Gordon Ramsay made you cry”. But part of the draw of a burger is that it is just good and doesn’t need to be fancy. The same person also said, “I will stick with in-and-out.”

The famous chef further detailed the menu in an interview with Hot Dinners. “Whether you’re popping in for a juicy, classic beef patty or something more luxurious like the Lobster Shrimp Burger if you want plant-based or super crispy chicken. I promise you will never have tasted anything quite as delicious as the amazing burgers at Gordon Ramsay Burger”.
