Tristan Thompson is making big changes. Aside from switching basketball teams, he has also become a US citizen!

The USCIS Twitter made a very special announcement earlier this week on Twitter. Apparently, Tristan Thompson became a US citizen. This has always been a dream of his, and now it has become a reality US Weekly says.

“I came to the U.S. on a student visa and have always had big dreams. I’m now truly living the American dream,” Tristan reveals in a statement about the new citizenship.

So where is Tristan from originally? Apparently, he hails from Canada. Then, in 2009 he moved to the US so that he could attend the University of Texas. He did so on a student visa. He then left his college with three years still left to complete to be apart of the NBA draft. In 2011 he became part of the Cleveland Cavaliers.

He played for the Cavaliers for nine seasons.

Now, however, things are changing. Not only is Tristan a US citizen, but he is moving basketball teams! The star will now be playing for the Boston Celtics.

Tristan Thompson and Khloe Kardashian – what does this mean?

Khloe Kardashian and Tristan Thompson just got back together so it seems like a bad time for one of them to be moving to Boston, however, they are trying to figure it out. Some fans wonder if Khloe will be moving to Boston, however, Tristan first has to prove that Khloe can trust him.

For now, though, Khloe will be splitting her time between LA and Boston so that their daughter, True, can see both of her parents as often as she wants.

“Khloé and Tristan are going to be fine. They will be living together in Boston and L.A.,” a source reveals about the couple. “Tristan has really turned his behaviors around and is focusing on Khloé and True.”

Apparently, Tristan is even making a good impression on Khloe’s friends. This is despite the fact that he cheated on her just last year.

“All of Khloé’s friends really like Tristan. Even though what he did was so horrible, they know Tristan is a good guy and Khloé is very dedicated to making their relationship work,” the source says.
