‘The Queen’s Gambit’ Netflix: Will There Be a Season 2?
If you spent your weekend watching The Queen’s Gambit on Netflix like most people did, then you might be wondering about Season 2. All that is out so far is Season 1, which is seven episodes long. So will there be another season? Radio Times shared a bit about what they know as well about a possible Season 2.
The Queen’s Gambit
The Queen’s Gambit hit Netflix back in October, but it has quickly become popular. Anya Taylor-Joy’s stars as a chess prodigy who went through a tough life as an orphan. In the seven episodes that are out, you get to know a lot about Beth.

Season 2 possibilities
This was actually based on a book. There is only one book and no sequel has ever been written. That fact means that there are no spoilers about what happens next either if it gets renewed. There is a chance that it could come back for another season, though.
Town and Country got the chance to talk to a couple of the stars of the show. Their opinions make it clear that would be up for another season of the show if it goes that direction. Executive producer William Horberg spoke out saying, “We’ve had a lot of fun talking about what happens tomorrow. The last scene feels like a beautiful note to end the show on, so I’m not sure if we want to go on and answer that question. Maybe we can just let the audience imagine what comes next.”
Actor and actress speak out
Anya Taylor-Joy said, “If I’ve learned anything from being in this industry, it’s never say never. I adore the character, and I would certainly come back if I was asked to, but I do think we leave Beth in a good place.” She went on saying, “I think the rest of her life will surely be an adventure as well, but in the quest that she goes on in this to find some form of peace, just some form of being able to be happy with who she is. I think it ends in a nice place.”
Harry Melling shared as well saying, “It’d be good, right, a Queen’s Gambit part two? The place we end in the limited series is the place we end in the book. I don’t know if there can be another one, but stranger things have happened.”
