Duggar Family Continues Gathering Amid Pandemic
At the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Duggar family was under fire. They were called out for holding their weekly family gathering, despite the pandemic. Anna Duggar had shared a clip of their family night on Instagram but quickly deleted it. After no mentions of family night since, it appears that the family is still holding their Monday night gatherings.
They haven’t only faced backlash over family nights though. They have been called out several other times due to their lack of social distancing. Joy-Anna Duggar shared a post when she hung out with her husband Austin Forsyth’s family. Sisters-in-law Joy and Lauren Duggar also took their kids on an outing amid the pandemic and took some heat for it.
What is Family Night?
On Monday evenings, the Duggar family gathers at Jim Bob and Michelle’s home for family night. Many of the family members who live in Arkansas try to make it to these weekly events. From what the family shares on social media, it looks like family night is a time for everyone to gather and catch up with one another. They sometimes go on walks or play games together. There seem to be special things planned for the family to do together.
Joy-Anna Duggar shares new clips of family night
On Monday, November 16, Joy posted on her Instagram stories and included a few clips of the family gathering. She captioned the photos and videos “family night.” In the clips, none of the family members are wearing masks, and they are all indoors.

Since the family hasn’t shared about their family nights for a little while, fans were unsure whether they were still gathering. But, in Joy’s stories, it looks like the family nights are still in full swing.
In the past, fans have expressed concern about family nights, especially because there are so many babies in the family. Fans are worried that one of the babies could contract the illness. Fans also wonder if Josie’s immune system is weak, as she was born prematurely. Overall, fans think it’s unsafe for the family to gather. Even though they are family members, they aren’t all a part of the same household or “bubble.”
As the weather gets colder, it looks like there is an increase in coronavirus cases. Because of this, strict lockdowns and restrictions may be put into place to protect people from contracting the illness.
