Only three more episodes of Supernatural on The CW

Fans have been following the journeys of Sam and Dean Winchester on Supernatural for 15 seasons. Only three episodes remain before the longest-running sci-fi series comes to an end. Moreover, an exciting new trailer for the finale has been released. The CW will also air a one-hour special The Long Road Home prior to the finale episode.

Supernatural is coming to an end

It seems The CW is nicely concluding one of the most popular sci-fi shows, Supernatural. The series finale of Supernatural is titled Carry On. This will bring Sam and Dean Winchester’s story to a highly anticipated conclusion. The one-hour special, The Long Road Home will air on November 19 before that finale episode.

The CW has released a synopsis for the finale episode. “After 15 seasons, the longest-running sci-fi series in the US is coming to an end. Baby, it’s the final ride for saving people and hunting things.”

Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles on the finale

Supernatural star Jared Padalecki had already dubbed this his favorite episode of the entire fifteen seasons. Padalecki spoke at Paley Center’s online Supernatural panel last month. He told the panel he couldn’t be more pleased with the way the finale turned out. Later on the panel, Padalecki said the series finale is his “favorite episode of all time.”

As for his on-screen brother, Jensen Ackles said the finale episode fully met his expectations. He said it was a fantastic way for the show to wrap up. Ackles had thought about and mulled over all the different possibilities of what could happen. He added, “It’s interesting to think that I kept coming back to what ended up happening.”

Finally here after COVID-19 delays

The CW had to delay production on the final three episodes of Season 15 due to the coronavirus pandemic. However, despite delays, very little changed in the plans for the final episodes when production resumed.

Comicbook.com quotes co-showrunner Andrew Dabb as saying that they had to simplify the pathways to get there. He said, for example, they had planned a “big, super-extravagant thing” for that episode. However, those plans turned out to not be feasible. Despite this, Dabb said they found an alternative that took them to the same place, plot-wise. He said, emotionally, it worked out great. They had to do a little rewriting, but nothing changed fundamentally relating to the show or its journey.

This week’s episode of Supernatural, titled Despair airs on Thursday, November 5 at 8 pm ET on The CW. Watch the exciting trailer for the finale episode of Supernatural below. This longest-running sci-fi series in the US will remain in our memories for a long time.
