Previous IMDb The Grand Tour ‘Madagascar’ Kerfuffle
Back in August, there was excitement amongst The Grand Tour fans. An IMDb listing indicated that Amazon would release the “Madagascar” episode on Friday, September 4. Not long after fans and other publications shared that information, that IMDb posting was deleted.
Sounds like someone mixed up “December 4” with “September 4.” Did they finally get it right this time?
Why Is It Taking So Long For Amazon Prime Show?
Unfortunately, Covid-19 is the reason that the “The Grand Tour Presents: Madagascar” was delayed.” Nearly a year ago 2019, James May, Richard Hammond, and Jeremy Clarkson visited the gorgeous island off of Africa. This was just prior to Christmas 2019.
After filming production is always tedious. They generally have over 1,000 hours of footage to look over and then edit. But, then the coronavirus quarantine happened. Worse yet, Andy Wilman, the show producer, got Covid-19.
The Grand Tour ‘Madagascar’ Was In Amazon’s Hands During Summer 2020
So, how long did it take for Andy Wilman to get over Covid and finish production? According to Drivetribe, Jeremy Clarkson said that they gave it to Amazon in early June. Amazon has remained silent. This has frustrated fans and Clarkson alike.
Why You Should Be Excited About ‘The Grand Tour Presents: Madagascar’
Throughout this tremendously long wait, The Grand Tour fans have threatened to give up Amazon Prime. But, it sounds like the wait is worth it. The episode sounds fantastic. Clarkson said, “We think we made a hell of a story and we hope you enjoy watching this as much as we enjoyed making it.”
James May had nothing but wonderful things to say about Madagascar, calling it “a truly beautiful place.”
Hopefully, fan will find out for themselves. On December 4, 2020.
