Why Was Lala Kent On Bed Rest Early In Her Pregnancy?
Being pregnant in the public eye can be a horrible experience. TV host and model Chrissy Teigen recently shared vulnerable pictures of her miscarriage, which drew the trolls slamming her as seeking attention. So, it’s not really a surprise that Vanderpump Rules star Lala Kent is keeping her pregnancy journey close to the vest.
The Give Them Lala Beauty founder did recently share some potentially scary news with fans, but only after she was safely through it.
Why Was Pump Rules Star on Bed Rest?
Like many celebrities, the Pump Rules star is active social media. She often posts on her Instagram Stories, which are only viewable for a few hours. During a recent IG Stories video, Lala Kent opened up about a scary time in her new pregnancy. She went public with her pregnancy in early September. By then, she was around three months pregnant.
Even though her pregnancy is in the early stages, she’s already had some issues. Lala Kent told her IG followers that she was put on bed rest earlier in her pregnancy. The reason? A blood clot. According to All About The Tea, Lala shared in an IG video, “I was put on bed rest early on in my pregnancy due to a blood clot.”
However, the clot is gone now. And Lala continues her pregnancy journey. She is expecting a baby girl with Randall Emmett in April 2021.
Lala Kent Careful What She Shares About Pregnancy
Celebrities often find their every move tracked by adoring fans. For reality stars, putting their life on display is literally their job, but where do they draw the line? Most Vanderpump Rules stars are open books with their fans. Until this summer, Lala Kent was perhaps one of the most open. What changed?
Lala admitted recently that she isn’t sure how much of her pregnancy she will let fans in on. The notoriously open Pump Rules star is now protective of her unborn baby. She did recently open up about some of the unflattering side effects of her pregnancy.
While many Bravo fans are happy for Lala, there’s always going to be trolls.
Trolls Continue to Question Size of Baby Bump
Lala Kent isn’t the only Vanderpump Rules star to get pregnant this year. Stassi Schroeder made a pregnancy announcement days after she was let go from Bravo for racially insensitive behavior in June. She is due in January. A week after Lala’s announcement, Brittany Cartwright broke the news that she is pregnant with her first child, too.
Unlike Lala and Stassi, Brittany and Jax Taylor are having a boy. Brittany and Lala are due around the same time in April. However, Brittany’s baby bump is much bigger and more visible than Lala’s.

That discrepancy has caused fans to speculate that Lala is using a surrogate. In her Instagram Stories, Lala admitted that the speculation makes her “spiral often.” Even a recent photo from Brittany’s gender reveal party drew scrutiny.
In the photo shared to Randall Emmett’s Instagram, Lala’s baby bump isn’t as visible as her Pump Rules co-stars’. That caused some to question if Lala is even pregnant at all.
However, some of Lala’s fans took up in her defense, pointing out that bump visibility often depends on body type.
Hopefully Lala and her baby are out of the woods and she can enjoy the rest of her pregnancy.
