‘American Idol’ Alum Katharine McPhee Expecting Baby With Husband David Foster
American Idol alum Katharine McPhee Foster spent the quarantine entertaining fans with nightly virtual concerts. However, it turns out that wasn’t her only entertainment. The actress and singer is joining the growing quarantine baby boom! She is expecting her first child with husband David Foster.
David Foster’s Relationship With Much-Younger Katharine McPhee Drew Scorn
David Foster divorced his fourth wife, RHOBH alum Yolanda Hadid, in 2015. She claims he ended their marriage due to her battle with Lyme disease. He denies this, but refuses to reveal the true reason for the split.
In 2017, the famous musician began dating American Idol alum Katharine McPhee. The 35-year age difference raised many eyebrows. Especially given that they first met back in 2006 when she was a contestant on the singing competition.
While romance didn’t blossom until eleven years later, their romance drew jokes and criticism. In 2019, Katharine McPhee became David’s fifth wife and took on his last name.
During the coronavirus pandemic, the couple took to Instagram Live almost nightly to perform concerts for legions of their fans.
The Famed Composer Railed Against His Reality TV Roots
In July, streaming giant Netflix released a documentary about David Foster’s career. However, in interviews to promote the doc, he got a lot of questions about his marriage to Yolanda. At one point in the documentary, he railed against fans who only know him from RHOBH and reality TV.
American Idol Alum Steps Out With Visible Baby Bump
On Thursday, October 8, People confirmed with Katharine McPhee’s PR team that the actress is expecting her first child! It will be child #6 for David. The news came after the couple were out running errands in California.
Katharine McPhee Foster couldn’t hide her growing baby bump. Nor did she try. The outlet hasn’t yet confirmed when the Broadway star is due. But she joins a long line of other celebrities announcing quarantine babies.
Bravolebrities Stassi Schroeder, Lala Kent and Brittany Cartwright are all pregnant with babies conceived during the quarantine. They were co-stars of Vanderpump Rules until Stassi was let go by Bravo in June for racially insensitive behavior.
David Foster and Katharine McPhee Foster were to embark on a joint tour this summer. However, the coronavirus pandemic forced them to cancel their plans. Instagram account @wrathofpopculture has a photo of the mom-to-be stepping out in L.A. More photos of her baby bump can be seen over at People magazine’s website.
