90 Day Fiance star Ash Naeck has admitted he joined the TLC reality show because he wanted to meet Avery Warner in person. He said they weren’t together prior to starring on the show. Relationship coach Ash, 38, and mom-of-two Avery, 32, were fan-favorites on 90 Day Fiance: Before the 90 Days, but not in a good way. While their relationship has failed, Ash has now opened up about how he got onto the show.

Ash reached out to Avery on Instagram to compliment the social media chef on her food. He found himself falling to Avery. However, when Avery traveled to Australia to meet Ash, there were problems virtually from the start. Who can forget how trust issues raised their ugly heads during her visit. This was especially after Avery attended one of his relationship seminars, along with a bunch of other women. His “barefoot and pregnant in the kitchen” ideas shocked everyone attending. You know the story, men go out to work and women stay at home.

Avery lives in Seattle, WA, while Ash was originally from Mauritius, but lives in Melbourne, Australia. They dated via video chat for nine months prior to appearing on 90 Day Fiance. Both Avery and Ash had a failed marriage behind them.

Avery was concerned about the long-distance part of their relationship. However, she was even more concerned about the fact he worked with many female clients. She believed the Ash she had fallen for by video chat wasn’t the real deal and when she found out he filed for bankruptcy, this made things worse. Ash had told Avery he had been divorced for ten years, but it turned out to be only one year. Also, his ex-wife wasn’t happy with the idea of their son moving to America.

Makeup and breakup

Since that time, Ash and Avery have broken up several times. It is after their latest breakup that Ash opened up about why he got on the show. He literally got on the TLC reality show so he could meet Avery in person and pursue their online romance. While Ash and Avery were together on the last episode of 90 Day Fiance: Before the 90 Days, they announced their split on the Tell-All.

Recently, Ash confessed that he takes no responsibility for their breakup or the failure of their relationship. Screen Rant quotes an appearance on the Reality TV and Me podcast with Kristen Moore. On the show, he claimed he didn’t know about 90 Day Fiance before he actually appeared on it. Ash said Avery had applied to be on the show and they weren’t even together at that time.

Reportedly, Avery had called him, asking for another chance and he decided to appear on the show. However, after all the times they made up and broke up, Ash claims Avery lacked his ex-wife’s qualities that apparently included the fact she was “very smart, very kind, very warm, having a huge heart, and on top of that gorgeous.” He also claimed Avery was too jealous and didn’t trust him.

Ash doesn’t regret appearing on 90 Day Fiance

Despite all their problems, it turns out Ash doesn’t regret having joined the TLC reality show. He says if it hadn’t been for the show, his Graves’ Disease might never have been diagnosed. Some doctor fans of the TLC show suggested Ash do some tests, which he did. He then discovered he had the medical condition. While his love life didn’t turn out for the best, it was at least good for his health.
