Why Is Teddi Mellencamp Leaving ‘RHOBH’ After Three Seasons?
Teddi Mellencamp has had the worst week ever. She’s made headlines for her questionable practices with her accountability program. Former clients came forward with allegations that it promotes “bully[ing]” and “starvation diets.” Now, Teddi has lost her diamond on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
Earlier this week, reports surfaced that she got fired from the show. Fans formed a virtual prayer circle in hopes that she will get the boot. Teddi has taken time away from the drama to reconnect with her family. But she returned to social media to confirm that she’s leaving the show after three seasons.
RHOBH co-star confirms her exit
Teddi Mellencamp will not join Season 11 of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, as per Us Weekly. She confirmed the rumors via Instagram on Tuesday, September 22.
“You heard it here last 😂,” Teddi wrote in her caption. “Yes, it’s true, I am not coming back to #RHOBH. Thank you to @bravotv, @evolutionusa, @bravoandy and all of the amazing women for the support (and the shade) for the past three years. Back to the shadows I go.”
The accountability coach kept her spirits high in the clip. She wore a black tank top with a gold chain and mini leopard print bag. Teddi revealed to her followers that she was hanging out with baby Dove. Of course, she used this time to lash out about the rumors against her.

Is Teddi Mellencamp too boring for the show?
On Monday, September 21, the Daily Mail reported that Teddi would not return because she “is boring and stale.” The insider also told the British tabloid that Teddi Mellencamp wasn’t as close to her cast members as it appeared on the series. She was only good friends with Kyle Richards. The other cast members didn’t “particularly like her.”
“She is boring and stale and does not offer anything to the franchise with her robotic and staged delivery when interacting with the other cast members,” the insider said. “The issue is, the other cast members don’t particularly like her and beyond Kyle no one is friends with her.”

The scathing insider also revealed that Kyle will end her friendship with Teddi when Bravo does. In her Instagram video, Teddi responded to the reports that she’s “boring.” However, it doesn’t sound like she got fired. Moreso, she got let go since Bravo didn’t renew her contract.
“I don’t want to bore you but I figured I got to give you a little update on what’s going on,” Teddi said. “I recently found out that my contract as a Housewife is not being renewed.”
She was “sad” to learn of the news. The fitness trainer described her exit as “a breakup” because she had a good rapport with the cast and crew. But Teddi is “looking forward to the future.” She’ll shift the focus back on her family.
Bravo series will undergo some changes
Teddi Mellencamp isn’t the only one to leave. Earlier this month, Denise Richards announced her exit from the series, via her rep. As per Newsweek, the show wants to reinvigorate itself after a drama-filled Season 10. Andy Cohen previously revealed that he decides whose contracts are renewed and whose aren’t from one season to the next.
“It’s usually a conversation. At the end of every season, we talk to the women about what they have coming up and whether they want to come back,” Andy explained. “What they see for the future. Then we also look at the show and say, ‘How do we want to change the show?'”
Teddi is also not a hit with viewers. A Ranker poll revealed the best Real Housewives of Beverly Hills co-stars. Teddi only received 35,000 votes, which put her last. In a previous interview with Paper Magazine, Andy revealed more about the decisions behind firings.
“If they become a turn-off to viewers, for whatever reason—they appear too fake, they’re not interesting, they’re not entertaining…When people cross the line and it becomes unreal, that’s when they are out.”
Lisa Rinna even asked RHOBH fans for their input. Viewers want less fights and attacks and more “fun” and “laughs.” They didn’t like how Teddi handled Brandi Glanville and Denise’s drama. They also thought she was too “boring” for the series.
