Love, honor and obey…?

To start the ceremony, an official speech warns both parties they can marry no other, or face imprisonment for bigamy. While this is somewhat of a bummer, the wedding then continues! The priest announces the joining of Kehinde Ilesanmi (Michael’s African name) and Angela K. Deem. Everything goes well as they recite their vows until it gets to the bit about Angela having “to love and to obey” Michael. There is a pause as she looks shocked at the thought of obeying any man. but luckily she laughs this off.

The married couple then attends their lively reception, with much dancing and laughter. Angela’s best friend and witness, Jojo, said, “Today was one of the happiest days I’ve ever seen Angela.” She added that she really believes they do truly love each other. Once Angela crowns Michael her “king,” even Aunt Lydia seems convinced that they will make it as a couple.
