Where will ‘Love Island’ 2021 Be Filmed? Locations Are Being Decided
Love Island just had it’s season premier in the US this past Monday. In other countries though, it hasn’t been going as smoothly. Now, they are talking about what to do for the 2021 season.
‘Love Island’ filming location
Love Island fans in the UK were disappointed this year when the show was cancelled for them in the summer. Instead, they just re-aired the Australian version of the show. Definitely not the same thing as all new content!
Luckily for anyone watching Love Island in the US this season has probably realized that the show is being filmed on top of a building in Vegas. This is due to COVID-19. The rooftop seems like a pretty germ free area to have the show, so it seems like it was a smart choice. Not every country did that though that airs the show. However, they are taking notes for next season.
According to RadioTimes, Kevin Lygo says that they may just film the show in the UK next year so that they can still have a season come out in 2021. He says that this will only happen though if the Coronavirus is still a big threat.
“It’s a long way away, and we hope we’ll be back. They are making it [Love Island] you know, they’re shooting it now in America, they do it in Las Vegas, and there are ways, you know, you isolate people beforehand and all the rest of it,” he revealed about next season.
Timing doesn’t matter
The new season doesn’t start for a while. However, it’s important with COVID to plan ahead.
“At this stage, it’s a long way away, it’s eight, nine months away, and we will proceed on the basis that we’re going to do it. If we couldn’t do it in Mallorca, well, maybe we’ll have to do like we’ve done with I’m A Celebrity: find a new place to do it or something, because then it would have been off a long time, and that would be a shame,” he said.
Honestly, filming it in the UK is far better than keeping it off of TV for the UK for two season in a row. Seems like it might be a great idea to start thinking of locations in the UK now that they can use.
