Jeremy Vuolo Apologizes For ‘Tone-Deaf’ Tweet

Jinger Duggar Instagram, Jeremy Vuolo

As TV Shows Ace reports, Counting On star Jeremy Vuolo sent out a tweet that was later deemed “insensitive” by his followers. He later deleted it after receiving backlash. Now, he’s apologizing to his followers for the mistake.

In the tweet, he wrote, “Would you rather: a) Drown in a swimming pool; or b) Be crushed by the jaws and teeth of a massive dog-like creature that is 4000x bigger than you. I know, it’s a tough one.” This was accompanied by a video of a dog saving a grasshopper from drowning in a swimming pool.

Duggar fans immediately pointed out how “tone-deaf” and “insensitive” Jeremy’s tweet was. This is because his wife Jinger’s grandmother tragically drowned in 2019. Grandma Mary Duggar was an important part of the family, and the loss was very hard on them. So, this is why fans think Jeremy shouldn’t have tweeted about drowning.

Jeremy Vuolo’s apology

The tweet was originally sent out on Wednesday and was deleted shortly after. It was only up for around four hours, but that was enough time for it to gain some attention.

On Thursday, Jeremy took to Twitter again to apologize.

His tweet reads, “Yesterday, I retweeted a nature video & made a comment about a grasshopper drowning in a pool. I was not thinking about what happened last Summer and, as soon as I realized how insensitive it was, I took it down. I asked my wife & in-laws to forgive me & I hope you will, as well!

Counting On fans seem to accept Jeremy’s apology

Since Jeremy sent out his apology, he has received several responses. Overall, it seems like his Twitter followers are accepting of his apology. They don’t seem to think that he had bad intentions in sharing the tweet.

Some say that Jeremy didn’t need to apologize and that it was a minor mistake. They believe he simply wasn’t thinking about Grandma Mary Duggar when he sent out the tweet.

Others mention that they wouldn’t have thought anything of the tweet if Jeremy hadn’t apologized. Apparently, the tragic drowning didn’t cross their minds when they first saw Jeremy’s tweet.

Nonetheless, it seems like Duggar fans appreciate Jeremy’s apology. And, it also sounds like nobody is going to hold the mistake against him.
