Jessa Duggar Details Her ‘Journey To Grace’

Fans of Counting On know that the Duggar family is very religious. Their religion, the Institute of Basic Life Principles (IBLP), plays a huge role in how they live their lives. Longtime fans of the family have seen them go on mission trips and have witnessed their involvement in their church. Derick and Jill Dillard also lived in Central America for a short time doing mission work as well.

But, fans have yet to hear some of the stories about how the family members have come to faith. Now, Jessa Seewald is opening up about her journey. Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar’s daughter shares a video and talks about how she went from “doubt and depression” to grace.

Jessa Duggar comes to faith

Jessa shared about her faith journey on her Instagram and YouTube accounts. She posted the same video on both platforms. While promoting the video, she says, “When I was young, I ‘prayed the prayer’ and ‘asked Jesus into my heart,’ but I wasn’t truly converted. In this video I open up about my spiritual journey. After years of struggling with doubts and depression, I came to truly understand the glory of the gospel of Jesus Christ. This is the story of God’s grace in my life. I pray you find encouragement as you listen.”

In addition, the Duggar daughter shares resources with her followers. In the description of her YouTube video, she includes a few links to books and songs that helped her along the way.

After Jessa shared her story, many of her social media followers commented on the YouTube video and on her Instagram post promoting the video. Several of her followers are talking about how great it is that she’s open and honest about the topic. Others are sharing about their own journeys and how they are similar to Jessa.

But this isn’t the first video on Jessa’s YouTube channel. She shares videos regularly. Often, these videos are about her three children who she shares with her husband Ben Seewald. The couple’s kids are Spurgeon, 4, Henry, 3, and Ivy, 1.

Recently, Jessa shared a video of her sons and husband “eating bugs” in the backyard. So, she documents the everyday moments as well as some of the highlights in her family’s life. Many Counting On fans enjoy watching her videos.
