‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers August 17 – 21: A Returning Character Spells Trouble For Xander
Days of Our Lives continues to heat up even as August creeps closer to an end. Fans will see two familiar faces this week, but are they both alive? True O’Brien returns as Paige this week. Her return is reportedly brief, as Eve (Kassie DePaiva) acknowledges the anniversary of Paige’s death.
The other return brings a group of high school friends and frenemies back together again. Not all of them are happy about this.
Philip Comes Home to DOOL, ‘Last Blast’ Friends Reunite
Jay Kenneth Johnson wasn’t the first to play Philip Kiriakis. However, he’s the one fans enjoy the most. The actor returns to DOOL when Philip returns to Salem this week. One Life to Live star John-Paul Lavoisier was the last to play Philip on the NBC daytime drama in 2016.
However, Jay Kenneth Johnson played Philip recently on the Days digital series Last Blast Reunion.
Philip reunites with high school friends Belle (Martha Madison) and Shawn (Brandon Beemer.) Shawn has some reservations about seeing his old friend.
Xander (Paul Telfer) won’t be happy to see his cousin, either. Xander likely knows that Victor (John Aniston) will always choose his son over Xander to run the family business.
DOOL’s Sami Takes Legal Action to Keep Nicole From Allie’s Baby
Another feud has reignited in recent weeks on DOOL. As viewers know, there is no love lost between Sami (Alison Sweeney) and Nicole (Arianne Zucker.) After years of a ceasefire, the two are back to catfights and feuding. It all centers around Sami’s daughter, Allie (Lindsay Arnold.) Allie came back to town last month very pregnant and very alone.
Nicole took her under her wing. She even talked Allie into considering raising her baby herself. Before that, Allie was planning on giving the baby up for adoption. However, Rafe (Galen Gerig) turned her down after Sami intervened.
Once Allie found about Sami’s antics, she shut her mom out of her life. Meanwhile, Allie let Nicole in. Needless to say, Sami won’t stand for that. This week Sami presents Nicole with a restraining order to keep her away from her grandchild, Allie’s son.
John Suffers a Medical Crisis During Argument With Sami
Sami’s behavior doesn’t sit well with her family, either. Nicole is actually Sami’s sister-in-law now that she’s officially wed to Eric (Greg Vaughan.)
John (Drake Hogestyn) gives Sami an earful about what’s happening in their family. As long-time viewers know, Sami has had issues with John since she walked in on his affair with Marlena (Deidre Hall) in the early ‘90s.
During the tense argument, Sami reminds John that he’s not her father. During the argument, John suddenly collapses. He’s rushed to the hospital. Spoilers indicate that Sami isn’t truthful with her family about her role in John’s collapse.
Gabi and Rafe Leave Town, Final Air Date On DOOL
Online rumblings about Camila Banus leaving DOOL have grown deafening on social media. The actress has played Gabi since 2009. In fact, she has a front-burner storyline going on with Jake (Brandon Barash.) But for whatever reason, the actress chose to leave Days of Our Lives.
Sadly, she’s not the only one. Fans will soon see Eric, Hope (Kristian Alfonso,) Rafe and Ciara (Victoria Konefal) leave the soap. Will (Chandler Massey) and Sonny (Freddie Smith) will last air on September 1st.
Fans may have noticed a new face playing Claire, as well. DOOL put newbie Isabel Durant in the role of Claire after Olivia Rose Keegan’s exit.
Now fans will have to say goodbye to Rafe and Gabi. Sources say the brother-sister duo will last air on Friday, August 28.
Online speculation suggests there are more actors who won’t be with Days when it resumes production in September.
Tell us in the comments which of the exiting stars you will miss the most.
