Hopefully they both walk away in love. Find out below what everyone had to say about The Bachelorette casting change-up.
Rachel Lindsay offers thoughts on Tayshia becoming The Bachelorette
E! News shared what Rachel Lindsay had to say about Tayshia being awarded the lead. She said, “I have been fighting for inclusion, and I‘ve said before that Tayshia would be an excellent Bachelorette, so I am more than happy to pass the torch. I am so excited to see what she’s going to do, how she will represent herself and her journey to find love. Now she’s in the driver’s seat, and I’m excited to see her get this opportunity.”
Rachel was the first Black lead on the franchise. Then, Matt James became the first Black Bachelor. And now, Tayshia will be number three.
US Weekly also shared thoughts from Rachel on Tayshia being The Bachelorette. Rachel was asked by Van Lathan on a podcast if she felt the uniqueness she had on the show was being taken away with Tayshia getting the role. She said absolutely not. Rachel said, “I in no way feel this in regards to the [new] Bachelorette. First of all, I’ve always wanted to be known as more than the Bachelorette. I had a whole law career before I came in and it’s been challenging to combat that people see me and they’re like, ‘Oh, that’s the Black Bachelorette.’ But I’m so much more than that.”
She went on to say, “I am so happy that I can pass the torch and there’s somebody else stepping in. I feel like I’ve done all I can do in this franchise. I’ve been vocal, I’ve fought for inclusion, I’ve fought for diversity and this is exactly what I wanted. I wanted to make a way so other people of color feel included. And Tayshia is half black and half Hispanic, so we [are] checking off two boxes here. This is great!”

And, BIP alum Evan Bass also commented humorously as he always does. He said, “The world: The Bachelor franchise is ridiculous you can’t find love in a month or 2! Clare: Hold my beer.”
Mykenna Dorn also commented on Tayshia getting the job. She said, “If this is true then this will for sure be the most dramatic season EVER !! Guess we’ll all have to tune in to see how this one goes down. I hope both Clare and Tayshia leave happy and in love !!”
And, if all these changes weren’t drama enough. The plot continues to thicken. Hannah Ann Sluss was seen arriving at La Quinta Resort and Club with a big suitcase. Nobody knows what this means, but this is definitely shaping up to be the most dramatic season ever.
