Kendra Duggar Gets Honest About Second Birth
Us Weekly obtained an exclusive clip of the upcoming episode of Counting On. In this clip, Kendra Duggar discusses the birth of her daughter, Addison.
Because Kendra’s mom, Christina Caldwell, was able to be there, Kendra says she is “so thankful.” She goes on to talk about just how important her mom’s support was, saying, “[She was] telling me I can do it because I didn’t feel like I could.”
Fortunately, Joe Duggar was able to assist his wife prior to her mom’s arrival. Together, Joe and Kendra “walked three or four miles in the halls.”
Kendra continues to talk about the pain she was in, adding that she had “quite a few painful contractions.” She also had “sharp pains.” She explains working through the pain, saying, “I was really having to breathe through them.” In addition to the tough contractions and other pain, Kendra was very nauseous.
The now mom-of-two wasn’t sure what was happening when her water broke. She describes this experience, saying, “I was in so much pain, I was laying down and I just didn’t think that while I was laying down it would break. I’ve never had that experience before, and it was a lot of pain at that moment.”
While Kendra’s second birth was very difficult and painful, her baby girl, Addison Renee, arrived quickly and is healthy and safe. The birth special was featured on TLC’s Counting On.
When she was born, Joe and Kendra said, “Addison Renee has made us a family of four and we are already so in love with her! She [was born] in the early hours of the morning and has already melted our hearts. We know Garrett is going to be a great big brother. Children are each a special gift from God and we are so happy our newest blessing is here.”

Joe and Kendra got married in September 2017. Since then, their little family has already grown. They have a two-year-old son, Garrett. Addison will be one year old in November. Since their first two kids are so close in age, fans wonder if Joe and Kendra will be making another baby announcement soon.
Though the family uses social media, they don’t often share new posts. Duggar fans were excited to see a new series of pictures of the couple’s two kids. The proud parents call the little ones “our world.” As expected, fans are gushing over the baby and toddler.
