Chef Hindrigo “Kiko” Lorran left Below Deck Med on Monday night’s episode. Although it was clear that he was leaving, his exit was still hard to watch.

The chef and the entire crew started to cry the moment they said their goodbyes. Once Kiko realized that his dream job was over, he went to his cabin to cry.

Captain Sandy Yawn claims it wasn’t easy firing him, but fans beg to differ. They feel this was a setup to get Malia White’s chef boyfriend on the yacht. Fans didn’t like the way that Kiko was treated. And they’re promising to quit the show.

So, what is Kiko up to now?

Chef Kiko is onto bigger and better things

Below Deck Med fans don’t have to worry. Chef Kiko is still cooking. He recently took to Instagram Stories to share a conversation he had with a yacht stew. Kiko is still working as a yacht chef. He’s given followers a sneak peak at some of his meals.

Kiko also has his own professional website and cookbook. Some of the recipes include mushroom risotto with grill filet mignon. The Brazilian chef also chartered a boat in Hawaii.

“Charter two is done, after spoiling the guest with lobster in white truffle sauce, octopus with shrimp and black rice and salmon tartar with caviar,” Kiko wrote in another post. “I can’t wait for the next moqueca Monday.”

Before his final episode, Kiko shared a black-and-white photo of his signature smile. In the comments section, his Below Deck Med crew members sent their love. Bosun Malia White simply sent hearts, while deckhand Peter Hunziker wrote, “I love you my brother amen!”

“Just feel blessed to live this beautiful life and to get old like a pirate!” he joked.

Below Deck Med chef is traveling the world

It’s no surprise that Kiko loves to travel. All yachties love the freedom that comes with their career. He often shares photos of his adventures on Instagram. He was a chef long before he joined Below Deck Mediterranean in Season 5.

“I kinda started my passion for cooking like these kids, just having fun making some pizza, so happy to do what I love,” he captioned one of his posts.

In a new interview with Decider, Kiko shared what he’s been up to since he left the boat. He’s currently in Martinique, where he’s working on a catamaran.

He loves the fact that he gets paid to travel the world. Kiko’s girlfriend, Nicole, got the same job as him so they could be together.

During the interview, he revealed that he’s overwhelmed by the positive support he received from fans of Below Deck Med. And the one lesson he’s learned is to “not care too much about what people are going to think about me.” He just listens to his instinct and does what’s right.

Below Deck Med airs Monday nights at 9 p.m. ET on Bravo.
