‘RHOC’ Alum Gretchen Rossi Shares Heartbreaking Last Moment With Her Deceased Dog Vito
RHOC alum Gretchen Rossi sounded like she experienced a bad year in 2020. She and Slade Smiley both suffer some financial hardship, she said in February. That came after she got canned from Real Housewives of Orange County. Now, she suffers heartbreak. She shared the heartbreaking moment just minutes before her beloved dog, Vito passed away.

The Real Housewives of Orange County alum took to Instagram on Monday. There, she told her fans that Vito died. The little old dog died just days away from his 18th birthday. She shared a photo of her kissing her doggie goodbye moments before his death. Plus, she also shared some pictures from happier days. Her caption revealed the pain she experienced. Gretchen said, “these first two pics are my last moments with my baby tonight.”
The RHOC alum also wrote more tear-jerking stuff about her “Vito man.” The long and heartfelt post talked about how Vito remained a member of their family for nearly “two decades.” She also noted that he shared her life for “nearly half” of her own span of years. Gretchen talked about how he shared some “amazing times” with her. Plus, he shared her sad times as well. In fact, she found solace with him through her divorce. And, when Jeff got sick.
Gretchen’s dogs her ‘first babies’
During her time on the Bravo show, Vito faithfully stayed by her side. And he shared “the last 11 years with Slade & I.” And, when Skylar arrived he loved her very much. But, she lost more than just Vito over the years. Gretchen talked about the loss of Rocco as well. Rocco sadly passed away about two years ago. Gretchen said she felt the pain so badly, she couldn’t share about it. Sadly, she noted that the dogs “were [her] first babies.” Now, she shared just how much they meant to her.
Remi, the other dog might still be alive from the sound of it. Of Vito, the RHOC star remembers, “he loved the Lake, chasing balls & ducks, going for walks and playing hide and seek with me.”
People reported that Gretchen ended by saying, “Vito, a huge hole has been left in our hearts, but I know I will see you again on Rainbow bridge.” She also spoke about him “reuniting” with his brother, “Rocco-Bear.” 🙏🏻 We love you so very much and will miss you terribly. Rest in Peace my sweet Vito-Man 🙏🏻❤️.”
