‘Vanderpump Rules’ Season 9 Still Not Confirmed

Bravo’s Vanderpump Rules SHOULD be in the middle of filming a new season right now. However, the network hasn’t even made an official announcement about the show’s future.

One filming hurdle is the coronavirus pandemic that’s wreaked havoc on television production. Shows, mainly soap operas, are just now resuming filming after shutting down in March.

Another issue is the mass firings that went down at Bravo amid the Black Lives Matter movement. In June, Kristen Doute, Stassi Schroeder, Max Boyens and Brett Caprioni all lost their cushy VPR gig.

Fans wanted Jax Taylor fired, too, but Bravo seems to have given him a pass. This is despite Bravo’s Andy Cohen assuring fans more Bravolebrities would be held accountable

So, with a huge cast shake-up and the production issues, the show is not filming Season 9 yet. And maybe not at all.

What do we know so far about VPR’s future?

Report: Jax Taylor Would Return to VPR if Asked

Stassi and the other three VPR stars were let go for their past racist behavior and comments. Many fans thought that Bravo was being hypocritical in firing them but not Jax Taylor. Jax is well-known for tweeting homophobic slurs at fans. In addition, Season 8 saw him tussle with Tom Sandoval over his delay in firing a homophobic pastor from presiding over his wedding.

Several celebs spoke out about their interactions with Jax, including former VPR co-star Billie Lee and 90 Day Fiancé star Ashley Smith. A fan petition calling for Jax’s immediate dismissal got over 10,000 signatures. In response to the backlash, Jax went mostly social media silent. He also shut off the comments feature on anything he did post on Instagram.

Jax and Brittany are currently living a farm life in Kentucky. They are helping Brittany’s mom recover from complications during routine bladder surgery.

Kristen Doute is also in Kentucky, visiting her former co-stars and offering support.

Regardless of the fan backlash, Us Weekly reports that Jax “definitely plans” to return to Vanderpump Rules.

Scheana Shay Moving to San Diego, Assures Fans She’s ‘Not Quitting’ VPR

While Jax and Brittany spent time in the South, Scheana Shay is taking a big step with her boyfriend. Scheana has been dating Brock Davies for almost a year now. Earlier this week, she revealed her plans to move to San Diego, per another Us Weekly report. Not only that, the couple are buying a condo together.

San Diego is about 2 hours from SUR, the L.A. restaurant at the center of Vanderpump Rules. Scheana is one of the few cast members who still actually works there. Her plan to move so far away has fans up in arms over her possible departure.

However, Scheana took to Twitter to assure fans that she’s not quitting. She wrote that she would get a small place in L.A. when she’s back to work. Some fans jumped in the comments, asking Scheana if she is confirming a Season 9.

Unfortunately for VPR fans, Scheana clarified that she is neither confirming or denying Bravo’s plan for another season.

VPR’s Lisa Vanderpump Has a New Show Coming to Peacock TV

Scheana isn’t the only one on the move. NBC’s new streaming service recently dropped a trailer for its original shows. Fans got a pleasant surprise in the promo. A split-second shot of Lisa Vanderpump’s VPR opening, followed by a dog. Putting the two together, fans began speculating that Lisa was getting a spin-off.

Well, they didn’t have to wait long for NBC to confirm the news. Vanderpump Dogs will revolve around Lisa’s L.A. dog rescue, Vanderpump Dogs. Aside from the confirmation, NBC has yet to announce any details about the show.

But with an exciting new show, does Lisa really need problematic Vanderpump Rules?

Tell us in the comments if you think Bravo will bring VPR back. If they do, will you be watching?
