It is now confirmed officially. Former Bachelor Ben Higgins confirmed his wedding to fiance Jessica Clarke will not be happening in 2020. Covid-19 has struck again and postponed another Bachelor Nation wedding.

Ben shares confirmation wedding in 2020 will not happen

E!News shared what Ben had to say about his upcoming nuptials to Jessica Clarke. Originally, Ben and Jessica planned to marry in November 2020. Now, all that has changed due to coronavirus. He confirmed the postponement on The Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous Podcast. Ben said, “Ideally, it would have been this year we would [have] gotten married…November [2020] was the idea. COVID, you know, kind of stopped those plans.”

So when will their wedding take place now? After realizing 2020 wasn’t going to happen, Ben said he and Jessica started looking towards 2021 for their wedding. Since Ben is a host for The Bachelor Live On Stage Tour, the first four months of the year are off the table. So, they started thinking about summer of 2021. However, scheduling conflicts kicked in once again. Jessica’s brother Phil is a professional baseball player and they are trying to be considerate of his season. Of course Jessica wants her brother at her wedding.

So, this pretty much has them moving the wedding forward an entire year. Ben and Jessica will tie the knot in November 2021. Ben said, “We don’t have an exact date yet. We’re finalizing the location of it. But I do believe that it will be in November of 2021 that we will be getting married.”

Looking at the bright side

Ben said it’s disappointing to not marry sooner, but they have to do what they have to do. He said, “What Jess and I have been able to do is, like, mentally wrap our brains around the idea of how much fun is it going to be to be engaged for a year and a half. And we’re talking to each other in that way. Like, this is a fun time. We should enjoy this. We can celebrate this.” He went on to say,”Hopefully by then, you know, COVID is—cross our fingers—it’s far enough gone that our family can be there and celebrate with the freedom of knowing that, you know, there’s a solution to the COVID virus and we can look at it in that manner.”

Ben and Jessica had also made the decision to not move in together until they are married. This also goes for intimacy. The two had vowed to not sleep together until they are husband and wife. So, they are living apart for the time being. Ben admits it is hard to do, but they are focusing on the positives and taking this time to learn new things. They are trying to use their time apart wisely.

Ben said, “We will be seeing each other often, but we will be apart until that day.I want to believe and trust that, in five years, we’ll look back and it will almost be just a distant memory of how much time we spent apart and that we have a lifetime together, hopefully, God willing.”

Stay tuned for more details as they become available.
