Jessa Duggar And Ben Seewald Considering Adoption
Jessa Duggar and Ben Seewald recently opened up about the possibility of adoption. The Counting On couple currently shares three children. Spurgeon is 4, Henry is 3, and Ivy is 1. Since the couple has their kids about two years apart, they’re starting to think about baby number four. Their kids have been born in 2015, 2017, and 2019. So, 2021 is likely when the couple would add to their family. With adoption, they may wait longer though. With the unpredictability of adoption, they may not be able to plan it all perfectly.
In the past, Jessa hasn’t had the easiest deliveries with her children. She’s ended up at the hospital a couple of times after giving birth at home. It’s unclear if this has anything to do with the couple considering adoption. They have mentioned adoption in the past though. The idea of adoption is definitely not a new one.
So, maybe the difficulties are what’s pushing them even further toward adoption. Nonetheless, fans can be on the lookout for a possible adoption announcement. Although, the Duggar daughter mentioned possibly giving an epidural a try the next time around.

Jessa Duggar, Ben Seewald discuss adoption
In a recent interview with Us Weekly, Ben and Jessa talk about the possibility of adoption. They revealed that they are “considering” adoption. Ben explains, “We could wait until all of our kids are grown and gone and then adopt, but I also think it’s kind of cool to have an adopted child growing up with the other kids.”
Then, he talks about where they are with adoption. He explains that they are pretty early in the process, saying, “We’re just in a stage of, like, meeting with people who have adopted and getting advice, hearing their stories and seeing what that might look like for us.” He says that they are talking with other people about adoption and asking questions like, “What avenues did you go through [for] foster care and adoption agencies? Were you adopting local [or] international?”
Jessa reveals that she has “baby fever” sometimes. But they are in a “good season.” The couple seems to be enjoying their three children. She admits that they would like to have a large family, but they don’t plan on having as many kids as Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar did. Jessa says that they’re taking it one kid at a time, and they’re “thankful for each one.”
Finally, Jessa says, “We’re not sure if our next baby will be adopted or not, but that’s something that has weighed heavily on our hearts since before we were married.”
