Andy Cohen Officiates Wedding on ‘WWHL,’ Patti LaBelle Serenades Newlyweds
June is Pride month, typically a month-long celebration in the strides the country has come in accepting people who identify as LGBTQ+. However, due to the coronavirus pandemic, many cities aren’t having the typical Pride parades and other festivities. Bravo host Andy Cohen made his own celebration on Watch What Happens Live.
The openly gay Bravolebrity chose a lucky couple to officiate their virtual wedding. Guests from two different Real Housewives franchises were in attendance. Music icon Patti LaBelle sang for the newlyweds, as well.
Andy Cohen Officiates WWHL Virtual Wedding
Pride month is almost over, but the celebration is just getting started for one lucky couple. On Sunday, June 28, a couple by the names of Justin and Robert had a virtual wedding with Andy Cohen officiating.
The Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kandi Burress and RHOBH’s Erika Jayne were guests for WWHL, and by extension, the wedding. Entertainment Tonight notes that The Real Real was co-sponsoring the wedding with Andy and Bravo.
At the beginning of the ceremony, Andy joked that they better get the wedding going before they “lose the venue.” He then quipped, “Oh, wait, we’re all at home.” As fans know, Andy has been hosting WWHL from his apartment in NYC. The show was on hiatus while Andy was recovering from coronavirus.
All of the guests appear on video conference from their own homes.
The couple’s vows were a mix of loving and joking. After Justin called Robert his “best friend” and “partner in crime,” Robert vowed to “be dumb together..”
Robert joked that they would “always be that couple that ruins somebody’s brunch.”
At the end of the ceremony, Andy channeled RHOBH’s Lisa Rinna. Instead of the traditional, “death do you part,” he said, “May you always own it.”
“Own it” is something Lisa says often, usually while calling her co-stars out for their hypocrisy.
Music icon Patti LaBelle serenaded the couple with her hit “Love, Need and Want You.”

Andy Reflects On Last Year’s NYC Pride Parade
Officiating a wedding isn’t the only way Andy paid tribute to Pride month. Over the weekend, the Bravo host posted a throwback to last year’s NYC Pride parade. He notes that the parade from a year ago seems like a “surreal dream” in comparison to this year.
In the video, Andy holds court on a float going down NYC’s iconic 5th Avenue. Several Real Housewives are on the float with him, including RHONJ’s Melissa Gorga.

The “gay shark” from the parade was also in attendance for the WWHL wedding.
