‘RHOC’: Kelly Dodd Faces Backlash For Comparing Coronavirus To Flu Weeks After Saying The Virus Is ‘God Thinning The Herd’
The Real Housewives of Orange County alum Kelly Dodd is in the hot seat once again. Mere weeks after comparing the coronavirus pandemic to “thinning the herd,” the star is under fire for new comments.
Kelly Dodd Annoys Fans and RHOC Co-Star Tamra Judge by Not Social Distancing
Kelly Dodd is not a believer in keeping her social distance. The RHOC star riled fans by traveling from NYC to California when both states were under stay-at-home orders. Based on Kelly’s Instagram, she didn’t stay in California long before going back to NYC to reunite with fiancé Rick Levinthal.
As fans know, Rick is a correspondent for Fox News and often shoots live from the streets of New York City.

In fact, Kelly once accidentally walked into the camera view with both middle fingers raised at someone off-camera.
In addition to traveling regularly between NYC and California, Kelly recently hung out with her RHOC co-stars. Some of the cast, including Emily Simpson and Braunwyn Windham-Burke, gathered at Shannon Beador’s home to film on Shannon iPhone with a “coronavirus catchup.”
The group maintained distances of six-feet some of the time. However, a cheek-to-cheek selfie of Kelly, Shannon, Emily and Braunwyn raised eyebrows amongst fans and RHOC alum Tamra Judge.
As TV Shows Ace reports, Tamra slammed Kelly and the other women for being “ignorant.”
The Positive Beverage Co-Founder Compares COVID-19 to the Flu
Just three weeks ago, Kelly made some questionable comments about the purpose of coronavirus. According to Kelly, the virus is God’s way of “thinning the herd.” The backlash from fans came fast and furious. Kelly apologized but clearly didn’t learn her lesson.
In an Instagram Stories video recently, Kelly went on another rant about COVID-19. Parroting a Fox News talking point, she said that New York is “down to 250 [deaths] a day.” In addition, Kelly trivialized the deaths by saying “people are going to die! [Sorry] to tell ya.”

The clip went viral on social media. Even Tamra chimed in with disapproval. A shocked Tamra called the clip, “Unbelievable” and asked if Kelly has any compassion.
RHOC Star Apologizes, ‘So Sorry if I Offended Anyone’
After several days of radio silence about the clip, Kelly offered an apology on Twitter. She wrote that she was “sorry” if anyone was offended. However, she blames feeling “frustrated” with the way things are right now, “longing” for normalcy.
Fans didn’t buy her half-hearted apology and continued to call her out. Kelly tried again by admitting that she needs to be “more sensitive” about the coronavirus crisis, Hollywood Life reports.

Kelly isn’t the first nor will she be the last Bravolebrity to put her foot in her mouth about the coronavirus pandemic.
