Does Jana Duggar Seem Happy Living At Home?
In the Duggar family, most of the adult kids get married pretty young, especially by today’s standards. People are now waiting until they’re 25 to 30 years old to tie the knot. In the Duggar family, the kids are typically married when they’re in their early twenties. Joy-Anna Forsyth married her husband at just 19 years old. Several of the girls that married into the family were 19 years old too.
So, it comes as a bit of a shock to some fans that Jana Duggar is still living at home. Jana is now 30 years old, and she’s not in a courtship. At least, a courtship hasn’t been announced publicly. In an interview with OK! Magazine in April 2019, Jana reveals that she’s dated a few guys. She says, “I have ‘courted’ or ‘dated’ a few guys, but so far nothing has gone into a serious relationship. Just continuing to wait and pray for the right guy to come along.”
So, right now, Jana is living at home with her parents and enjoying her life as a single lady. She spends her time drawing, gardening, working on DIY projects, and taking care of her younger siblings. She seems content, but fans and critics alike sometimes wonder why Jana is still single. After all, they think she’s a beautiful woman with a great, caring personality.

Duggar critics speculate why Jana lives at home
On Reddit, Duggar critics are talking about why Jana might still be single. Some argue that Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar keep Jana at home for her extra help. Now, most of the kids are older and Jana probably has less to help with. There are no babies at Jim Bob and Michelle’s home. Some also think that Jana’s close relationship with her father is stopping her from leaving the nest.
In the thread, several critics say that Jana might be too shy to leave her parents’ home. If she gets married, she will be leaving everything she’s ever known. The Duggar family is very tight-knit and she seems to be close to her parents and siblings.
In addition, Jana has spent much of her life taking care of her younger siblings. So, some critics think she might not want to get married and have kids of her own. She might be enjoying the lack of responsibilities after having responsibilities for so long.
Jana Duggar seems happy and hopeful
Regardless of what’s really going on, Jana seems hopeful. She doesn’t appear to care that she’s still single. And, as she says in the interview, she is praying “for the right guy to come along.” So, it’s possible that she’s just doing her own thing until the time comes.
On social media, fans can’t see the whole picture. But, from what Jana shares, fans think she looks truly happy. She’s doing what she loves by being creative and tending to her garden. She isn’t publicly saying that guys are a priority right now.
Rumors about Jana courting Lawson Bates
For years, there have been rumors about a possible Duggar-Bates courtship. Both families are similar, due to their large number of children and their Christian values. But, the Bates family is a little more relaxed. Nonetheless, fans of both families are hoping that Jana will court Lawson Bates. There are always rumors about these two. They even left flirty comments on each other’s social media posts at one point.
But, as of right now, there’s no official courtship between the two of them. And, it’s unclear if there ever will be one. Fans will continue to “ship” the two of them together.
