TV Shows Ace recently got the chance to interview Rebecca Metz of Better Things and Coop & Cami Ask the World. Check out what she shared about working on both shows.

Rebecca Metz talks working on two shows

Better Things is a very adult show, but Coop & Cami Ask The World is a family show. Is it hard to switch back and forth between the two characters?

“Not really, because the writing and everything about the production processes are different. Jenna (Coop & Cami) and Tressa (Better Things) also have different hair, makeup, and wardrobe. So once I’ve stepped into each character’s ‘look’ and get to set to start working, it all comes back to me and I slip right back into character.”

In what ways are your two different characters similar?

“Well, they’re both single working moms with big hearts and senses of humor. Beyond that, they’re pretty different. I sometimes wonder if they’d like each other. I’m not sure.”

After Hollywood opens up again, post-COVID-19, do you expect to go back to work on both shows?

“I certainly hope so! I’m crossing my fingers that both will be picked up for another season. It would be a nice way to feel a little bit normal again, and I think fans of both shows would love to see their favorite characters again.”

What simple piece of advice would you give to a young actress just starting out in Hollywood?

“Be patient. Embrace the unglamorous business stuff. Do your best work at every opportunity. And be nice to casting directors. They will be your lifelong allies.”
