Jamie Otis’ COVID-19 Test Results May Affect Birth Plan
Married At First Sight and The Bachelor star Jamie Otis is pregnant with her second child. She and her husband Doug Hehner have one daughter, Henley, who will be three this summer. Now, Jamie is 37 weeks pregnant. The couple is opting for a home birth due to the coronavirus. Jamie is a nurse, so she understands the importance of hospital births. But, there are risks that come with hospital births because of the virus.
Doug mentions that this isn’t a decision they took lightly. They weighed the pros and cons, ensuring they are making the best choice for Jamie and their baby boy on the way.
In a recent update, Jamie shared that she’s having mild contractions. She adds, “mama needs him to stay in there at least another few days!!!” This is because of her coronavirus test, which hasn’t come back yet.
Jamie Otis is tested for coronavirus
As TV Shows Ace reports, Jamie had to take a coronavirus test. If her test comes back positive, she will not be able to see her newborn son for two weeks. Fortunately, Jamie says that she isn’t showing any symptoms. It’s simply precautionary. Since taking the test, she has been keeping fans updated. And, because she’s so open with her social media followers, fans will likely know whether Jamie tests positive for coronavirus.
As it turns out, Jamie Otis’ plans for a home birth could be affected by her coronavirus test results. This is likely also adding to her stress right now. In an update on Instagram, Jamie writes, “In other news, my midwife said we can’t do a home birth until my covid-19 test comes back negative. Ah, stressful! Esp since I was only ‘recommended’ to take it by my primary doc (which of course I agreed its best to know in case I’m a “silent carrier” & spread to my newborn). I have ZERO symptoms so I’m 99.99% sure I’m not positive!”

She’s also saying she hopes that the baby doesn’t come before the test comes back. If it does, she will have to have a hospital birth. So, she is trying to take it easy. In the comments section of her post, Doug writes that Jamie is handling this “like a champ.” She’s under a lot of stress due to the virus. And, she really just wants her test results back so she can relax.
Stay tuned for more updates about Jamie Otis and Doug Hehner. There should be baby news very soon.
