Host Chris Harrison Says He’s Rejected ‘Bachelor’ Spinoffs In Past, Was Reluctant About ‘Listen To Your Heart’
Since the new spinoff The Bachelor: Listen to Your Heart was announced there has been a lot of skepticism. Even host Chris Harrison admits he was reluctant to the idea at first. In fact, there are many suggestions for spinoffs that Chris does not think would work. There is even one he didn’t want to be a part of.
Chris shares thoughts on Bachelor spinoffs
US Weekly shared all the details Chris spilled on a recent podcast. Chris said, “I won’t say which one — one [spinoff] has already come and gone that I did not want to be a part of — and I wasn’t. And you know, there are dozens and dozens of ideas that we throw out, I throw out, [creator]Mike Fleiss [throws out], everybody. And some of them come to fruition and some of them are great ideas and they just don’t happen.”
Chris is on board with Listen to Your Heart. However, that wasn’t always the case. He said, “We always throw stuff against the wall and try to be creative. When I heard this idea, at first, I was a little skeptical. I’m like, ‘A Star Is Born meets The Bachelor? I need to know what this looks like.’ And we all have to kind of put our creative hats on and figure this out, which was kind of fun.”

Listen to Your Heart premiered Monday, April 13. The show follows men and women who want a career in music. They also want to find love and someone to share their musical talents with. The show will only air over a period of six weeks. Chris is the host with the most for this new show. If you can’t wait to find out how it all ends, Reality Steve has already spoiled the ending for many need to know fans.
Chris said, “Just know that if you’re a Bachelor fan, it’s going to have that awesome familiarity. But then there’s going to be this weird, eccentric twist to it that you’re not quite sure where it’s going. That’s why it’s so good and so new and so fresh. I think Bachelor Nation will absolutely just gobble this thing up.”
Chris has been the face of The Bachelor for many years. The show premiered in 2002 and has been going strong ever since. There has been many success stories and also many spinoffs. Bachelor Pad was one of the first and we all know how that turned out. The most successful spinoff to date has been Bachelor in Paradise. Speaking of BIP, it is still up in the air if the new season will be able to film in early summer.
Another spinoff that took place and was well received by fans was Winter Games. They were supposed to have a Summer Games this year. However, it has been cancelled due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
