‘VPR’ Lala Kent Reflects On Original Wedding Date: ‘I Do Feel Sad’
Vanderpump Rules star Lala Kent is feeling a little down these days. She gets emotional in an Instagram post on April 14 about the approach of what would have been her wedding day.
Like many other couples, Lala and Randall Emmett were forced to postpone their April wedding due to the coronavirus pandemic.
VPR Star Feels ‘Sad’ As Former Wedding Date Approaches
The film producer popped the question to VPR’s Lala in September of 2018. While the couple has been together for years, he finally agreed to appear on Vanderpump Rules for Season 8.
Lala chose her wedding date, April 18, shortly after the engagement. Therefore, she had been planning her wedding for almost 2 years. Unfortunately, the coronavirus pandemic disrupted her wedding plans. She opened up last month on her podcast about the heartbreaking situation, TV Shows Ace reported.
In a new Instagram post, the former SURver once again gets emotional as her former wedding date approaches. Lala revealed that she would have been “heading to [Newport Beach] with her “mama and mama-in-law” right now.
The VPR star does note that her situation isn’t a huge deal in the grand scheme of things, but she’s still “sad.” She writes,
“I know people have been affected by this in much bigger ways. I do feel sad today, though.”
Lala Reflects on Missing Out on Traditional Pre-Wedding Festivities
In addition to preparing for the wedding, Lala is also heartbroken over missing some of the pre-wedding traditions. The guidelines against mass gatherings affect not just the wedding, but the pre-wedding celebrations. She says,
“I haven’t experienced anything that I should have. Bachelorette party, bridal shower. It’s just all very weird.”
Lala doesn’t reveal if she will have the shower and Bachelorette party before her July wedding. It’s hard to say if things will be somewhat back to normal by then.
The VPR Star Hopes it “Rains” on Her Former Wedding Day
While the VPR star is sad about changing the wedding date, she knows her wedding will happen eventually. However, she says her “heart was set on April 18th.”
There is one way she will feel better about the situation, The Blast reports. She hopes for bad weather on Saturday so she will be glad the date changed. Channeling her inner Alanis Morissette, Lala quips,
“I hope it rains that day. Then I’ll be saying, ‘Thank god we didn’t get married today.’ That would make me feel better.”

Several brides-to-be expressed solidarity with Lala. They wrote that they, too, had to cancel or reschedule their wedding. Lala’s VPR co-star Stassi Schroeder showed her support by writing, “Love you so much.”
As TV Shows Ace reports, Stassi’s October wedding in Rome, Italy is up in the air.
Check back with TV Shows Ace for updates on the status of Stassi’s wedding.
Vanderpump Rules Season 8 continues Tuesdays on Bravo. A wedding does feature on the April 14th episode. Tom Schwartz and Katie Maloney Take 2 in Vegas. (Schwartz forgot to file the paperwork after their first wedding.)
