It’s been two weeks since Bindi Irwin married her long-time boyfriend Chandler Powell during an intimate ceremony. And thankfully her younger brother Robert Irwin seems very happy to welcome Chandler into the family.
Robert and Chandler’s brotherly love
Robert has most definitely accepted Chandler into the family with open arms.
According to the Daily Mail, the teen shared an adorable photo of himself and Chandler enjoying time together at the Australia Zoo on Thursday. The pair were all smiles and posed together in matching khaki zoo outfits.
Robert captioned the photo, “Brothers-in-law!” and tagged Chandler.
Their relationship is simply wonderful. Chandler is definitely one lucky guy to be entering an amazing family full of love for both people and animals. Seriously jealous, if I could join any famous family it would be the Irwins! They never cease to put a smile on our faces through all of their hard work with wild life conservation.
Robert and Steve at Bindi’s wedding
Unfortunately, just hours before Bindi’s wedding, Prime Minister Scott Morrison announced new restrictions on weddings due to the coronavirus pandemic, with only five people allowed to attend.
The couple’s wedding had been planned for nearly a year with around 200 guests invited. But, they decided not to let the coronavirus stop them. They had a small ceremony with only a few guests instead.
Robert played a very important role in Bindi and Chandler’s wedding. He walked his big sister down the aisle in place of their late father Steve.
Sharing his joy after the wedding, Robert wrote online that it was a day he will never forget.
Lastly, he wrote “Bindi and Chandler, words cannot describe how happy and proud I am that today you started your married life and celebrated love during a difficult time for our world. I know that Dad was with us, and we are all so delighted for your future as husband and wife. I love you both.”
The Irwin-Powell wedding details
Bindi had an extremely family-focused wedding ceremony. Her wedding honored her later father Steve Irwin in numerous ways. Even her dress was special to her family!
She wore a long-sleeve gown, inspired by the one her mom wore to marry her very special father in 1992.
The dress had sunflower lace sleeves. Sunflowers are very special to Bindi. She said, “When we would go on projects and drives together, we’d often drive through these huge sunflower fields in the middle of nowhere and we always stopped to take them in.”
I seriously love the Irwin family and everything they stand for. They always fill our news feeds with positivity in these tough times.
