These days, fans see a person who seems in a much better place as she navigates her world with her good friend Kailyn Lowry keeping her company a lot.

Teen Mom 2 – Leah Messer’s book, Hope, Grace & Faith, reveals childhood abuse

TV Shows Ace reported that Kailyn and Leah seem very close. Actually, after reading the contents of the book, it turns out she could really use that friendship. While rumors often pop up that Kailyn and Leah have a deep relationship, and they might actually date, that got denied by Kailyn. On the possibility of a romance between them, Kailyn teased her fans about that, but on her Coffee Convos podcast, she later said that they really just remain good friends.

And, if you think about Leah’s journey, it’s great that she can reach out to someone. After all, fans of Teen Mom 2 saw her go through an abortion, a suicide attempt, drug addiction problems, and breakups. The book’s not actually on sale yet, but The Sun UK hot their hand son an advance copy. They revealed the tragic backstory to Leah who coped with life as an abused child. According to the outlet, Leah suffered from “s*xual abuse” for “six months.”

Abusive childhood a dramatic event in Leah’s life

The outlet explained that Leah’s abuse started off when she was about “five or six.” Her mom worked in a hospital and a teenager came in and watched little Leah. But, that person did a lot more than just watch over her. Initially, Leah loved her baby sitter, describing her as the “coolest person.” But she soon started plonking herself down next to Leah while they watched movies. According to Leah, she, unfortunately, kissed her and touched her in a bad place. Like so many kids, the little girl knew that what happened was wrong. She said she felt “uncomfortable, ” but fear of talking about it meant she kept it a secret.

Things became worse for the Teen Mom 2 star when the baby sitter “started laying down” with her during her naps. “I was afraid that if I told her to stop, she wouldn’t want to hang out and play games anymore,” she said. This went on for about six months, but thankfully the family relocated to North Carolina. And for Leah, she felt this made her feel weak: Almost as if she didn’t love herself enough to say “no.” That led to a future full of scenarios where she found it easier to not say no. Nowadays, she believes it’s impossible to love unless you love yourself first.

Hope, Grace & Faith arrives on May 5

The title of the book reveals how Leah got herself out of that mindset. These days, she talks a bit more about abuse on her social media. That sort of thing helps her fans cope with the same issues. Hope, Grace & Faith goes on sale on Amazon on May 5.

Many Teen Mom 2 fans know that Leah suffered some abuse during her childhood. However, it looks like the book also covers much more than that. It seems to tie into many of the decisions Leah made in her later life. Are you looking forward to the release of Leah’s book? Sound off in the comments below.
