‘Mama June: Family in Crisis’: Reality Star Is Living Her Best Life

Mama June’s media presence has been less than stellar lately. Most recently, she was arrested for cocaine possession. InTouch Weekly shares an uplifting post of Mama June living her best life during the quarantine.
Mama June lounges around the pool in a red one-piece bathing suit in a recent photoshoot. She floats around on a swan and poses by the pool in a chaise chair. She shares this message with her fans, “I hope everyone is staying safe out there. This is a scary time. We’re staying safe inside, and we hope you are too.”
In one of the posts, she updates fans that she joined Cameo. Her fee is $30. “Hey ya’ll, have really enjoyed making these videos for ya’ll the last few days, especially during this coronavirus lockdown,” she says.

Mama June confirms that Alana (Honey Boo Boo), Jessica, and Lauryn (Pumpkin) are also on Cameo. This announcement is shocking in light of multiple reports claiming that Mama June has not had contact with her children since her drug possession arrest.
What may be even more shocking is how light-hearted and nonchalant the Instagram posts are considering that she has yet to go to court for the charges. The Sun reports that a trial date for May 2020. Pumpkin’s husband, Joshua Efird, tells People, “The bad thing about it is everything and anything that was in the car, or whatever they got arrested from, Jun took credit for all of it.”
The Rise (and Fall?) Of It All
WE TV follows the family in the new show, Mama June: Family in Crisis. Fans first met the family on TLC’s Toddlers in Tiaras, where Honey Boo Boo was a contestant. Following their appearance, TLC filmed the family for four seasons of Here Comes Honey Boo Boo.
Since their time on TLC, WE tv’s produced Mama June: From Not to Hot, showcasing a dramatic transformation. In the nine-episode show, viewers get an inside look into how Mama June when from 460 pounds to a nearly unrecognizable 160 pounds. In three months, celebrity personal trainer, Kenya Crooks, was able to help Mama June lose 84 pounds.

Since then, Mama June was arrested (with her boyfriend, Geno Doak) on drug possession charges and had not had contact with her children. “What more can we physically do for her? I mean, we tried to send her to rehab. The network even gave her the opportunity that anybody in their right f-ing mind would take. She checked out within less than 24 hours,” Pumpkin tells People. Pumpkin is Honey Boo Boo’s legal guardian since their mother’s arrest.
