Former Bachelor Colton Underwood was recently diagnosed with COVID-19. He has finally recovered from his horrible experience. Now, he is speaking out to thank his girlfriend, Cassie Randolph, and her family. They took care of Colton while he was ill in California away from his own family.

Colton thanks Cassie and her family

US Weekly shared what Colton had to say.   Colton took to Instagram to share a photo of himself and Cassie. He said, “I just want to take a second and thank this beautiful woman and her family for taking such good care of me. Not only physically, but mentally too (and I’m probably the most high maintenance patient). She’s hardworking, passionate, understanding, kind and has the biggest heart. Her family opened up their doors to us while we were in quarantine and through everything we stuck together. I have made a full recovery from the coronavirus and we managed to keep the entire family healthy as well.”

Colton continued, “I am now working with medical professionals to figure out the best way to support their efforts against the coronavirus. I can’t thank @cassierandolph and the entire Randolph family enough for caring for me while I’m away from my family.”

His diagnosis and symptoms

When Colton first announced on March 20 he was positive for the virus, he was feeling awful. He shared that he couldn’t even walk up a flight up of stairs without being out of breath. Colton even had to sit down after going to the bathroom from being exhausted. Three days later he developed the cough and more shortness of breath.

Colton said, “Breathing is challenging, the best way to describe it is feeling like I only have access to 20% of my lungs. I can only imagine how people with pre-existing health conditions feel with this.”

Colton’s new book

The Bachelor has been promoting his new book, mostly via video. It was released March 31 and titled, The First Time. Cassie also had a sweet Instagram post for Colton in honor of his latest accomplishment. She said, “You really know how to drive me crazy in quarantine, and you might be an absolute nightmare to take mirror selfies with.. but I am so so proud of you and all the hard work you put into your book! 📖 How cool that you get to call yourself an author now 🤓 Love you lots 💙.”

Colton and Cassie have been dating more than a year now. Since Colton’s contract with The Bachelor is finally over, he is spilling the beans about many things. He even thinks that perhaps producers went too far sometimes in persuading the lead to go in the direction they want. Regardless, he is thankful for the experience and for finding Cassie.

Stay tuned for more Colton and Cassie news as it develops. Who knows, maybe next will be their engagement announcement!
