Jill Duggar DIllard Instagram

On Monday, April 6, Israel Dillard celebrated his fifth birthday! Israel is the son of Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard. He has a younger brother, Samuel, who is two years old.

Jill shared several pictures of Israel’s day and wrote, “Although the current state with Coronavirus has changed our plans, we are counting our blessings and trying to make lemonades from lemons…

Jill also talked about his day, saying, “We decorated the house after the boys went to bed last night and they were so excited this morning! We did a special birthday breakfast and are planning a drive this afternoon to say hey to friends from our car before we make our way to Derick’s mom and stepdad’s for a simple celebration in their front yard (keeping our distance)!”

Jill adds that Israel has been receiving birthday gifts for several days too. His family members have been mailing his gifts, making his special day last even longer. She says that he’s doing a great job of understanding that things are different this year. Finally, she says, “We’re so blessed to still be able to show him how special he is. We love you Israel 🤩!

In response to Jill’s social media post about Israel’s birthday, fans are leaving lots of sweet messages. They’re wishing him a happy birthday and saying that they hope he had a great birthday.

Israel will attend kindergarten in the fall

As TV Shows Ace reports, Israel is heading to kindergarten in the fall. And, he’s going to public school, not private school. Jill has homeschooled him for a couple years now, but the couple made the decision to send him to kindergarten.

As Duggar fans know, Jill and all her siblings were homeschooled. So far, all of her siblings are also homeschooling their kids. But, only a couple of them have kids who are of preschool age or older. Perhaps more Duggar grandkids will be heading to public school in the next few years.

On their decision, Jill and Derick said, “We do try to prayerfully consider each step we take and not just run on autopilot.” This came after they received some backlash. Duggar fans expressed concerns over Israel’s education in a public school setting. It seems like this is a big decision for the family. And, since Israel was homeschooled for a little while, it’s likely that they also considered homeschooling him.

It sounds like there are big things ahead for Israel! Stay tuned with TV Shows Ace for all the latest updates on the Duggar and Dillard families.
