Is The Duggar Family Taking The Coronavirus Seriously?
Last week, the Duggar family received backlash after not taking the coronavirus seriously. They held a family night on Monday, despite social-distancing suggestions. So, at least 20 people gathered at Jim Bob and Michelle’s house. Anna Duggar originally posted the video on her Instagram stories. But, she was quick to remove it, likely due to the heat she got over it.
Naturally, this causes the family’s fans to wonder if they’re actually taking the coronavirus seriously. Based on the family night video, it seemed like the family didn’t care much. Or, they misunderstood how social-distancing works. But, now it looks like the family is turning a corner. They may be making more of an effort to practice social-distancing.
Duggar family worships at home
On Sunday, two Instagram posts went up about having church at home. Jim Bob and Michelle posted a video of themselves singing worship songs by the piano as Jana plays. As TV Shows Ace reports, they had “family church time” at home.

Anna Duggar also shared a photo of her kids on Sunday. All six of her kids are dressed up and standing outside. She says that they got dressed up for church and watched the livestream at home.
These are two signs that the family might be more serious about social-distancing now. They’re staying home to worship instead of going to church, where they could possibly get infected or spread the disease.
Joy-Anna Forsyth deletes post after social-distancing backlash
Last week, Joy-Anna Forsyth shared a social media post, documenting her trip to the river with her two-year-old son Gideon. But, they weren’t the only ones at the river. Some of Gideon’s cousins, on Austin Forsyth’s side of the family, joined them there. Immediately Joy-Anna received a lot of hate for this. Duggar fans wondered why she wasn’t practicing social-distancing.
It’s unclear how Joy-Anna feels about social-distancing now and whether she’s practicing it. Once again, this could be due to some confusion about who you can socialize with safely. Many people are social-distancing with their families, so she might have thought family included extended family and not only immediate family. Regardless, she’s since deleted the post because of all the comments she received. Duggar fans hope she’s staying safe, especially since she recently announced her pregnancy after a tragic loss last year.
Which Duggars are practicing social-distancing?
Several Duggar kids are being open about practicing social-distancing. Jessa and Ben Seewald have shared lots of pictures of their time while social-distancing. They’ve built several pieces of playground equipment for their kids, including a climbing dome and a swing. They’re enjoying family time outside. Jessa recently revealed that they are not going to Jim Bob and Michelle’s home. She added that it made her kids sad to stay away from their grandparents.
Jill and Derick Dillard are also staying at home. On social media, they are sharing ideas so parents and children can stay busy during this time. Jill also gives ideas for at-home date nights.
Jinger and Jeremy Vuolo are the only Duggar family members who don’t live in Arkansas. Jinger and Jeremy live in Los Angeles, California, so they’re under a stay-at-home order. They are able to leave for groceries and other necessities, but they are staying at home as much as possible.
