‘Biggest Loser’: Erica Lugo Ties The Knot On Zoom
Biggest Loser trainer Erica Lugo is officially married! She shared the happy news on social media on Saturday. She is now married to her fiancé Danny McGeady. The couple got engaged in December 2019, and they had set their wedding date for April 4, 2020. In a social media post, she shares that this is an important date to them, so they didn’t want to postpone the wedding.

On March 14, Erica talked about postponing their wedding. She writes that the coronavirus news is tiring and overwhelming. She talks about their decision to postpone their wedding. Weddings are exempt from social-distancing rules, but she wants to help flatten the curve. In the post, she also reveals that they would have a small wedding on April 4, as planned. But, the big celebration is at a later date.
In her social media post, Erica reveals that they tied the knot on Zoom. This is because of the coronavirus pandemic. Zoom is a video call platform. Many people are using it these days with school being online. Many businesses are using the platform for meetings too. So, Erica thought it would be the perfect way to include their family members while still practicing social-distancing. Plenty of other people are giving Zoom weddings a try too.
Erica writes, “Perfect wedding. ultimately love doesn’t need big venues, fancy menus and big crowds. Our love is what mattered the most today.” They still plan on having a big party on December 12, 2020.

In her social media post, Erica talks about the wedding. She also shares a series of photos taken on the big day. She says that the photographer took the pictures “from 8 feet away with a mask on, outside.”

Erica writes, “Our big lavish dream wedding was cancelled due to #Covid19 and #FlatteningTheCurve. 4/4/20 was important to us and we wanted to keep this date as our wedding date. So. We kept it. We surprised our friends and family with a #ZoomWedding.”
In her Instagram stories, Erica reveals that they told their family to get on Zoom for the kids’ virtual school play. But, once the family members joined the call, they saw that it was actually for Danny and Erica’s wedding.
Erica includes all the important details about the wedding in her post too. She shares that Kristi McCart from The Biggest Loser even married them. Erica adds, “And we ate s’mores with the kids around the bonfire.”
Between the two of them, they have three kids. All three kids were able to be a part of the wedding too. Erica has a 9-year-old son, Connor. Danny has two kids, Elise, 9, and Jack, 13.
