‘Below Deck’: Captain Sandy Yawn Sends Out A Positive Message About Coronavirus
Below Deck Captain, Sandy Yawn celebrated her 55th birthday with friends just a short month ago. It seems almost impossible to think that between now and then, everyone’s lives turned upside down with the coronavirus. But Sandy, who previously suffered a heart attack, and worked with health care clients on the yacht, sent out a very strong and positive message about the virus.
Below Deck – Sandy’s positive message about coronavirus includes a shoutout to doctors
Taking to her Instagram on Monday, Sandy shared a photo of her with doctor Francis Martinis. Fans of the franchise know him quite well as he featured on a few episodes, including Below Deck Sailing. Sandy said, “Frank like many other doctors are working hard for us to stay healthy. ” Then she noted how the virus “comes in hard and fast.” The tragedy of it is that “it takes lives, it knows no gender,” and “race or creed.”
The Below Deck captain added to her post, explaining how the virus “destroyed our economy,” and it dominated “the media.” That of course, instills fear. But, she also noted an upside to the self-quarantine and social-distancing of our time. She noted, “It…also allowed us to #stayhome with our #families,” and “eat meals together.” People “now do homework together,” and they play together. On the upside, Sandy also commented, “we have cleaner air to breath” and “our ocean is healing.”
Sandy talks about the human spirit
Sandy really decided to choose to “believe we will get through this.” She feels that people will “heal their hearts and minds.” Sounding very determined, she told her fans that she thinks people “fight this virus to its extinction.” Then she noted, “What this virus doesn’t know is how strong the human spirit is! #together we will beat this.” Some fans reacted, saying how they fear for their family members who work in health care. Some of them sound pretty terrified for their loved ones. Sandy kindly acknowledged them and sent them her best wishes for a good outcome.
Other fans also commented about the positivity of her message. One Below Deck fan wrote, “Thank u for the uplifting words 💜.” Another one noted, “Thank you Captain Sandy! We will get through this together! ❤️.” Then, one follower commented, “This too shall pass and we will be stronger for it! In it together, together!”
