’90 Day Fiance’: Big Ed Gets Emotional As He Slams Body-Shaming

90 Day Fiance Big Ed

90 Day Fiance: Before The 90 Days, Season 4 brought Big Ed to TLC viewers’ screens. The short man with no neck became the subject of body-shaming from the day the preview dropped. It turned out he’s a little eccentric, laughs at himself, and is a successful photographer. He also suffers from Klippel-Feil syndrome. While he laughs a lot, Big Ed’s also human and hurt by all the body-shaming trolls. He grew emotional as he slammed people who do that.

90 Day Fiance – Big Ed’s short neck comes from a rare skeletal problem

TV Shows Ace reported in late February, that Big Ed trollers should think twice. That’s because he suffers from Klippel-Feil syndrome. (KFS). The physical deformity comes from a skeletal condition inherited genetically. Essentially, he looks like he has no neck as two of his seven neck bones are fused together. We noted that it seemed odd that people body-shamed him. After all, reality TV fans don’t go around body-shaming the likes of Matt Roloff from Little People, Big World.

However, despite our report calling on people to think twice about body-shaming the 90 Day Fiance star, it still persists. Big Ed noticed that and he got very emotional about it. ET reports that he “fought back tears” when he spoke to Lauren Zima. Big Ed said he was cautioned not to read what fans of the 90 Day Fiance franchise say. But, it’s his season, so naturally, he wanted to know what they thought about it. To his horror, much of what he sees is plain hurtful about his physical deformities.

Big Ed’s happy he managed to comfort someone with the same condition

While Ed’s upset at the hate that goes his way, there’s one silver lining that makes him happy, He talked about the young man who reached out to him. Fans saw his post on Instagram where he mentioned someone with the same condition also suffered body shaming. Ed got a letter from him and he felt in awe of Ed for going on TV. Ed told him, “Do not let this syndrome define who you are. And that’s how I’ve always kind of lived my life.” Ed was concerned that because people mocked him, the young man wanted to just give up on life.

Moved to tears, Big Ed comforted the young man. But, for Big Ed, the body-shaming from 90 Day Fiance fans really hurts. He slammed people who do that. Ed told ET, “I think if people really knew how it affects people when you make fun of somebody, they wouldn’t do that.” Ed notes how “unkind” it is to “make fun of someone’s physical appearance.” He thinks “it’s not a good idea.”

What do you think about the fact that people still body-shame Big Ed even though they already heard about his KFS syndrome? Do you think it’s pretty awful, especially as Ed’s filling our lives with chuckle moments, like his mayo hair treatments? Sound off your thoughts in the comments below.
