Bachelorette and Bachelor in Paradise alum Blake Horstmann recently made a trip to Indiana to talk all things Bachelor. He met with 120 fans at Alumni hall at Indiana University on Friday night. Blake got a bad reputation during this past season of Paradise and now he is voicing his opinion a bit on the subject.

Blake spilled some Bachelor secrets

The Indiana Daily Student shared all the juicy details about his visit. One thing he addressed in Indiana was making out in front of a television crew. He said, “It’s so weird, making out in front of so many people, but you kinda get used to it.”

Blake also discussed his experience in Mexico during the 2019 Summer. He said, “Paradise is another level of torture. Blake continued, “I literally wanted to walk into the ocean and keep walking.” He went on to say during the first week of filming he only got about 12 hours of sleep. He said their rooms were open air and their were monkeys and spiders that would scurry across their rooms. Along with the constant hot days, resting was not easy.

Blake also said the contestants on Bachelor in Paradise get paid. And while the shows are not scripted, he said producers will put rival contestants in a single shot to try and cause drama. He said, “The producers are evil, but they’re very good at their jobs.”

Opinions changed for some fans

After attending this event in Indiana, some fans changed their minds about Blake. There were several who said they think Blake got a bad rep on the show and he isn’t like that at all. Another said while they thought he was a player, they take back their original facts after hearing him speak and seeing him interact with fans. A couple of people said he deserved more sympathy from viewers.

Prior to Blake entering the beaches of Paradise, he was a fan favorite. It wasn’t until his hookups at Stagecoach got out that he began getting a bad reputation. He was confronted by not one, but two contestants last summer. Needless to say, Blake did not find love again.

The last love Blake had was falling in love with Bachelorette Becca Kufrin in 2018. Blake was runner-up on her season. Ultimately, Becca picked Garrett Yrigoyen and the two are still engaged today. Blake said looking back on the show he can see that they were and still are truly happy together.
